Interior lights on when doors open

Curious if there is a way to have the rear overhead light turn on when I open the rear doors. Currently when I open the doors it is completely dark and it’s challenging to get my kids buckled into their car seats.

is the dash dimmer rolled all the way down?

do the interior lights come on with front door open?

do it with both rear doors?
sounds like rear door switch is bad?

Are there lights to illuminate the lower areas around passengers feet? My explorer had it and you could change the lights color too.

If you roll the dimmer switch to it's lowest/dimmest position there should be another detent, if the switch is left in that position it overrides the interior lights and they will not illuminate when a door opens. My wife uses this feature when the kids are sleeping and we need to open a door.
