Hello all,
I posted about this when I first got the truck brand new in July. It still does it and I haven't taken it in for it's first oil change yet as it still reads 55%. But I hate the popping and pinging the exhaust makes. The sound sounds like when the exhaust is very hot and you turn off your truck and it makes those pings.

Anyone have this issue and better yet know why it does it? I never had a vehicle that made this sound when it was cold. I keep my truck in the garage so it doesn't sit outside all night.

Who ever did the oil change didn't reset the oil percentage display. The warmup exhaust pings are normal during the initial break in period according to several previous posts on this topic.

i only have 4000 miles on it so it's not ready for an oil change yet. I just got it in July 2017.

Its expansion, But one of the reasons it makes so much noise is different materials in exhaust system from heat shields to manifolds all expand and contract at different rates
