Was wondering if anyone had problems with their headlights fogging up. Started off with small amount of condensation along the bottom 2-3 weeks ago. Been that way since except now it's the whole headlight. I installed hids and checked to make sure the grommet was secure which it was. Doesn't appear to be any open gaps. I took the cap and bulb out and the condensation went away so I let it air out for about an hour and put everything back together. It's dusk now and the lights came on and after a 5 min trip to pick up my daughter it's back to fogged up. Any suggestions? Also... I was in an accident about two months ago so both headlights are replacements but this is only happening on the passenger side. First pic was today. Second pic was last week

I also filled the "cavity" of the grommet up with silicone too... no issues for 2 years

Caskey, I was thinking about it but if for some reason I need to take the bulb out, I need to undo the harness to get my dust cap off and then to put it back on I'm unable to fit my hand between what little room is there and the bulb to reinsert it. So for me, I install the bulb then slide the harness through the cap and then put the cap on then position the groomet. It's also been pretty humid in mass every night for the past 3 months lol. But where I live we get fog every single night. Thick fog from like 10p until 3-4am. Wonder if that's contributing. You think it's air getting through the dust cap? Or from somewhere else. This isn't the factory housing as it was replaced after I hit a downed tree during a storm.

i did a lot of bulb testing when i had my 2014.... i took the front bumper off everytime i changed out lights... just easier that way... pain in the A? yes... but much easier to set bulbs in correctly and run my harnesses that way.

are the replacement lights Mopar? could be aftermarket lights arent up to par and the weather could be playing with you as well....

I ran my Opt7 LEDs with NO COVER on the back for about 6 months (March - August) in Iowa (temps below freezing to approaching 100) and never had any condensation issues even with the caps off

to me it sounds like your headlight bulb may not be seated properly??

You should still be under warranty for the repair work, I'd go back & complain and let them either seal or replace them.

Ya I'm going to talk to them Monday for warranty replacement. The hids were not factory so I'll have to remove all the wiring so I don't risk a void. I don't want them to be like oh you cut a hole in your dust cap and your voided. The repair work was guaranteed for the life of the vehicle I believe.

Caskey, I tried before because the bulb got like stuck in the projector lol so I tried to get the bumper off but it was close to me having to leave for work so I didn't want to get into trouble not being able to get everything back together and the retainer clips that hold the wheel well trim piece on break when you pop them off I guess for the 2017s and aren't reusable so if I took the bumper off I'd have to get replacement rivet things. But I was thinking running without the covers, my issue is I did that with my previous fullretrofit on my impala and I ended up with spiders inside the housing that you could see from the front. Lol

As Tom said as long as you didnt cut them up or anything they should be Golden Ill bet they are aftermarket assemblies

I only cut the dust cap. So before I go the dealer I'll have to order oem dust caps. Anyone got a link? And the part was replaced at the Chevy dealer which is next door to the dodge dealer. The Chevy one has a collision center. Both owned by the same owner. Housings look oem. I would hope they wouldn't cheapnit up. Everything else has mopar embedded in the part. As for the headlights I can't take them out. Well I can but don't want to.
