Sorry if this has been asked in the past. I searched and found reviews but nothing talking about differences and whether or not they are big enough to warrant spending a little more money. I am leaning toward the aFe since that seems to be the one that most people recommend. Between the options listed, is there a noticeable difference considering the difference in price which I pulled from autoanything? I am looking for additional hp and gas mileage, but more so for the sound everybody keeps talking about when paired with the Hemi. Currently, my only other mod is a resonator delete. Any input is appreciated, thanks!!!!

Airaid Intake System- 214
K&N 63 Series AirCharger High-Flow Intake Kit- 275
K&N 77 Series Metal Intake Kit- 286
aFe Magnum Force Cold Air Intakes- 349

I have the spectre CAI. Sounds great. Picked up 2-3 mpg on the highway. HP gains are with in 1-2hp of the K&N. Cost is $150. plus more options for filament colors.

I went with K&N for no other reason than because I found one on Amazon for $157 brand new so I couldn't pass up the deal. Sounds great under throttle, better pep in the mid range, maybe better mpg. Overall worth the cost.

AFE all the way...why? Like the quality of the build, had a K&N on my old Jeep and thought it was junk. Price wasn't fantastic but I also bought them the day they came out for '17 models. Performance and spec wise, the butt dyno feels a difference. Really opened up the engine it felt like and some more throaty tones coming out of the exhaust. Whatever way you go, I think it will be a good choice.

Very nice man, I really like the AFE design over the K&N mostly due to the Scoop where the factory one was. The K&N looks in complete which I'm a bit surprised as they are probably the biggest aftermarket high performance air filter company in the world. When I was racing back in the 80's and 90's, everyone used K&N. I don't remember anyone else int he game.
I see you live in NJ, I'm right over the Bridge in Lower Bucks country right outside of Yardley, Levittown, Bristol area.
Do you take your truck in for service at the dealership? Do they give you any grief for having a after market air filter system? I wonder that as I think it's silly but I heard online so many people having Warranty issues when having one. Again I think thats silly but maybe it's not.

Very cool! I'm central NJ, right next to bucks county and New Hope area. Unfortunately, the truck has gone in more than its fair share of times for service issues lol, but they don't care. One time they tried to pin my problem on it and without my permission they removed my intake and placed a stock air box back on. To no one's surprise, including my own, the problem was still there so they reinstalled my CAI. They truly don't care. This however, varies dealer to dealer. Consumers are protected under the magnusson-moss act and I also have a personal connection with my dealer so no issues for me.

Thats good to know. I want a cold air system and really like yours. But I don't want my dealership ( Reedman's in Langhorne PA) to give me grief for having one. Dodge makes one for the Challenger and Charger but not the Durango. When I did my new car surgery, I talked about the cold air intake systems they offered and not on the Durango R/T.
Your very close to me. I'm in Lawerenceville and Princeton all the time. I work up there as I have many clients in those areas. I actually have clients all over NJ all the way to the Shore points.

I forgot to ask, what service issues have you had? I got 1500 miles on my 17 R/T now and I think everything is getting broken in. I get this strange ticking in the exhaust when it's cold and then it goes away after it warms up. Not Lifter ticking but like Pinging inside the exhaust. Kinda reverse of what you hear when it's hot and cooling down. It's bizarre

Yes we are very close! I also travel through Rte 1 area and go down towards philly area occasionally. My R/T has had multiple noises that have been addressed and one currently that hasn't (high pitch noise when shifting through 3rd gear), new A/C expansion valves for whatever reason but they say so, and a new alternator early on. Bizarre situation but nothing I can do about it. That noise you have is odd, nothing I've heard before, maybe someone else that has heard of this can chime in

Probably just the metal of the exhaust expanding as its heating up. I've worked on a couple cars where that happened. Not sure if there is a fix.

it happens like in seconds of start up. It's probably 1 second or 2 and then it starts making this ping ping ping noise like something is moving around inside the exhaust.
It's only when it's cold meaning has not ran in at least a few hours or sat over night.
I'm gonna video tape it
