First Draining Of Catch Can

Drained my catch can for the first time this evening. It's been on for about 2500 miles. Got to say, the can was worth it and is definitely doing its job. Drained it into a water bottle bottom then poured it into a measuring cup. Came out to be about an ounce of oil that didn't end up in my engine.

Agreed. Couldn't imagine driving one of these D's without the catch can. All that oil getting sucked in can't be good.

Eh...I've run with and without on my '06 Hemi and other than not having to dump the collected oil from time to time, I couldn't tell any performance difference and the engine is approaching 195,000 miles without any issue to date.

Is there a company that makes a high quality air/oil separator (aka catch can) with a direct-fit mounting bracket and plumbing for the D 5.7?

Billet Technology Signature Series Catch Can For 2011 and up Jeep 5.7L, Jeep 6.4L, SRT Durango and Durango 5.7L

Been running this since a few hundred miles, only drained it a few times but normally theres a little oil in it. Can't hurt to have.

Here's what I use. Like that it has a valve on the bottom of the can, makes draining it really easy.

I have the same type with the drain on the bottom added a short hose to the barb. First 4 oil changes I used Pennzoil ultra platinum . Then switched to mobil 1 Both times I tried to drain the can the mobil 1 was about 4-5K miles nothing came out the sludge prevented the oil from draining. Im going back to Pennzoil. Has anyone else noticed this that was the killer of old motors sludge build up blocking the oil ports.

Nice kit! I wish it had a drain on the bottom but other than that it is exactly what I'd want, plus the color options are cool.
