and yours is a 99

Neil,
Do you have any aftermarket alarms or auto start on your D? I too always have to hit the unlock doors to get the little ones out and it's a pain in the ass

I looked thru my entire FSM today and there's nothing that I can do to make the Locks perform like that.
Neil, yours must do that due to an aftermarket set up

Anyone ever have a problem with their power locks locking at random times? My Durango does the usual "lock at 15mph" thing, but sometimes I can be cruising down the highway and hear them all lock again. Sometimes it'll do it when I'm sitting at a dead stop as well. It also seems to do it even when it parked in my driveway and there's no doubt in my mind that it does it all day/night 24/7.

It's locked me out of the damn thing before when I left the keys on the seat and jumped out to put gas in it. Now I know better and keep my keys in my hand or roll the window down first (which sets off the alarm when I reach in to unlock it).

Hey thanks! I'll go stick that under the nose of my local stealership! :)

jweltch,

With the link I provided you above, you can easily save the cost difference and cover a DOC membership of $30 for 3 years.

The reason you can't post a for sale item is because you're not a DOC member, just a registered forum user. Membership is what's used to pay for the site expenses in the first place. If it weren't for the forum and the money to pay for it, you wouldn't have the link above to fix your locking problem. To circumvent the rules and provide a For Sale item in your sig line isn't cool at all and against the spirit of the limitation. :!: In fairness to everyone else, I'd ask that you rectify the situation one way or the other before other actions are needed.

Thank you.

All of my doors unlock when the vehicle is turned off.
Is your setup stock Neil. I don't think I have that option. Mine is an '00 and yours a '99 I believe. Maybe that's the difference. Skitzo, you have a '99 right? can you do this too?

The 99 doesn't have this option from the factory.

Maybe it's my Clifford alarm system. I know it can be set to lock the doors. The lock feature is turned off and the factory 15 mph feature is on. I'm not sure if it unlocks the doors also. Maybe it does. I've got the alarm right after I got the vehicle so maybe I forgot how the stock system works. I have the same alarm on my car. The alarm lock feature is on but there's no unlock feture at least that's enabled.

It's definitely a feature of your Alarm system.
Thanks for getting us all excited about a new factory feature Neil :cheesy:
Now we all have to aftermarket? MORE $$$$$

From the '03 owner's manual:

1. Enter your vehicle and Close all doors.
2. Fasten your seat belt (Fastening the seatbelt will cancel any chiming that may confuse you during this programming procedure).
3. Place the key into the ignition.
4. Within 10 seconds cycle the key from the OFF position to the ON position four times, ending in the OFF position. (Don't start the engine)
5. Within 30 seconds, press the driver's door lock switch in the LOCK direction.
6. A single chime will be heard to indicate the feature has been disabled.
7. To re-activate this feature, repeat the above steps.
8. If a chime isn't heard, program mode was cancelled before the feature could be disabled. If necessary, repeat the above procedure.
This worked for my 2000 Dodge Durango, but I had to leave the key in the on position!
4.5 leave key in ON position (do not start)
5. press the driver's door lock switch in LOCK position
