What's the maximum speed without any mods? I think the highest we got it up to was 87 or 88, seemed strange to me, but then it probably gets less stable with more speed in an SUV.
Do I sense a bit of 5.9L jealousy? Yeppers! :mrgreen:FSTDANGO3 said:OR Trade Indy I'm sure his D will go a Million MPH!Steve

JOE :!: Doing that in your Ram secretly I see. I didn't think you had it in you. :cheesy:Silver Ghost said:Here's a Hemi Ram that must have the same issue - but it'll shift @ 6500.

Well Bill the tires were probably your worst enemy that day.Volphin said:Been to 105 but it felt a bit soft so I backed off. Those crappy badyears are still 2001 vintage rubber, so I'll go again when new shocks and tires are fitted. With the increased lift, it just doesn't feel stable though. Maybe I need a Hotchkis. The D behaves very unlike my Accord? somehow less precise. Hmmmm. Did get the Lexus up to 126 on a lonley drive to Atlanta. Thay little puppy feels better with speed.

I hope while doing 115 someone else was looking at the overhead and you were looking straight ahead.durangodan said:In 2001 when my D was new, I got into a convoy of cars doing 115 on the turnpike north of Orlando. and did this for about an hour. The D was very stable at that speed and had no hint of the engine cutting out. Felt like it had plenty of power to spare and engine temp never rose. The overhead was reading 4 MPG the whole time.
