MY LUCK

My Luck and the starter would engage at that speed and rip it clear from the block. :wall:

Here's a Hemi Ram that must have the same issue - but it'll shift @ 6500.

D Speeds

Been to 105 but it felt a bit soft so I backed off. Those crappy badyears are still 2001 vintage rubber, so I'll go again when new shocks and tires are fitted. With the increased lift, it just doesn't feel stable though. Maybe I need a Hotchkis. The D behaves very unlike my Accord? somehow less precise. Hmmmm. Did get the Lexus up to 126 on a lonley drive to Atlanta. Thay little puppy feels better with speed.

Just few questions on PCM Change:

What should be the input I have to tell them? VIN? anything else?

How hard is the replacement? Will it be possible to change it back before going to dealer?

Didn't find anything on that regards for D2?
Thanks

Last time we were in Tennessee near Chattanooga, going down those mountains, the D got to 110 easily. However, in that area, 110 can get you KILLED. For those that have never been out there, fortunately they provide runoff, uphill, pea gravel emergency strips just in case you or the truckers (usually the truckers) would ever need to use them.

On a related story, coming down the mountain from the top of the incline once, I lost my brand new brakes? all the way to the floor as they were rolling stinky smoke? once. Thank God we were pulling into the entrance of Ruby Falls at the time. I had smoked them completely. Learned the "use the transmission" lesson on that day for sure.

My other latest flat out speed drives were on the forsaken I-10 strip in the Florida panhandle. Gosh there's NOTHING out there!

In 2001 when my D was new, I got into a convoy of cars doing 115 on the turnpike north of Orlando. and did this for about an hour. The D was very stable at that speed and had no hint of the engine cutting out. Felt like it had plenty of power to spare and engine temp never rose. The overhead was reading 4 MPG the whole time.

Well Bill the tires were probably your worst enemy that day.
Secondly I have the Hotchkiss on my D with the lift and it keeps the D very stable.

I hope while doing 115 someone else was looking at the overhead and you were looking straight ahead.
Funny thing about this post is I'm awaiting a few of our members whom are Law enforcment to chime in here.
