What's the maximum speed without any mods? I think the highest we got it up to was 87 or 88, seemed strange to me, but then it probably gets less stable with more speed in an SUV.

I've had my 98SLT 4x4 up to 90-95 before. dunno if it goes farther before the govenor kicks in. I don't want to find out due to my 3.92gears. 75mph if running about 2200-2300rpm

Governed speed should be 113MPH in your Durango. A tuner like SuperChips that eliminates the limits could bump that up to 125MPH. Most likely, the D will get to 120MPH in that setup whereas I recently saw a video where that was all she had opened up.

Please keep in mind, there's speed and there's stupidity. Nothing says here in the USA you should be anywhere near those speeds. If you 'feel' drivability issues at less than 80MPH, then you have something wrong and it should be looked at soon.

As for my 2000 SLT+ 5.9 like yours?it's seen the Governed Speed on occassion before my SuperChips? never since so I can't confirm that top cap.

The stock PCM limits the cruise max speed. The limiter is gone in the Performance PCM from Dodge. I assume the B&G is the same as the Performance unit. I haven't given it a try yet.

You might be able to get the dealer to remove the cruise limit if you ask them nice.

NO- at least this isn't the case for second generation:(. I live and drive in the places where speed isn't an issue:), issue is a lack of speed

For last 2 years I'm looking around for box/SW/ option to remove the speed limit on my D. No luck :wall: Had a long chat with the dealer and had access to programmer, sadly didn't find the way to remove this:(
That's all my car can do and Japanese things are passing me on that speed?

I'd give The Fastman a call or email. Check the banner ad at the top of the forum page and click it for contact info. Perhaps B&G and Dan have worked out a flash for the Hemi. If they, you'll be amazed at the performance difference.

OR

OR Trade Indy I'm sure his D will go a Million MPH!
BTW when I had my superchips and stock tires the D would go to 125 mph only once on the way back from Skitzo's NEDOC Meet.

Mail sent, I hope he has the solution?

Had my D up to 110 at el mirage dry lake, I don't want to do that again. I also did 100 teaching this civic a lesson for being an ass to other drivers on our socal freeways, years back.

Heading home from the DRMR HeavyD and I had our D's rolling right along. 115 is the speed limiter.
B&G Chrysler can Flash the PCM but will only max it to 125 MPH. Liabilty issues is the reason. He may go 140 MPH with a 408 Flash if you ask really nicely. Not too many D's have the HP to hit it. Throwing a brick into the wind is hard thing to do.

Your Hemi PCM can be flashed but once again he won't unlimit the Speed Limiter. Check him out here. www.bgperformancepcm.com

04 Hemi Premium fuel & (MBT) timing curves, 750 idle, 6500 rev, 140 mph, modified torque management

Is the needed thing. Will write to B&G Performance for details

Good question Garth!
I guess if it doesn't sense speed it'll throw a mil but it may not slow down.
I bet they have built in some redundancy into it though

there's also a Key Trick that the Dak Guys are doing when approaching cut off turn ignition key forward, starter won't engage but speed won't be cut off either. Someone on Dak-Dur did it on U-tube to prove it worked.
