I would imagine that the $1700 price you have hear about is one of two things. Either it is not the lifetime policy, or it is what the dealer SAYS they are charging when in reality they are schmoozing the numbers, and making the extra cost up elsewhere.

I did some research before buying with Clay, and he gave me the best quote by far. Like others, I got several of the little cards via snail mail urging me to call the Dodge Factory Warranty Center for my "special price." When I did, they wanted $3800 for what Clay wanted $2500 for. When I told the guy I could beat his quote by $1300, he told me to buy it because he could come anywhere near that.

Since we just cranked over a new year, the costs may have gone up a bit. That's why I made my purchase on 12/23/16.

Thanks Don. It seems like FCA set a base price based on models but made no difference on trims in a model. At least that is what Clay informed me. That is what makes me feel unfair. Although my SXT has much fewer features (no AWD/Hemi/sunroof that are prone to fail) than an RT, the cost is the same. In other words, higher-trim owners get better deals on extended warranty.

Nope, buy the Durango and then call Clay. If you want get the vin and call clay and ask him for his price, then go to the dealer and see if they will match it.

Has anyone bought a lifetime, max-care warranty ($100 deductible) in the past few months (2016 or newer Durango RT or v8)? I have gotten a few quotes around $2500 and trying to figure out if that is the new going rate. Most of the posts I have seen are a few months to over a year old.

Thanks

I just bought mine a couple of weeks ago from the internet legend himself, Clay at Zeller Motors. He's the man to buy it from. I got the unlimited MaxCare w/$100 deductible for $2,150 with 11,991 miles on the D and got the paperwork from Mopar a few days later. They are straight-shooters. Clay owns the dealership and I don't see how he makes any money. Maybe it helps him cross the monthly target or something. Whatever it is you are not going to find it cheaper or have a cleaner sales experience anywhere else.

Ditto.. Got mine from clay like 1 day before my 12mnth on 2016 DD loaded R/T. I think it was going to be $125+ after 12mnths. I got 75k/8yrs with $100deduct I think it was $1750 or so but clay is a legend and definitely the way to go. Great guy to work with I emailed back and forth with him literally for a year deciding if I was going to get a max care or not. He was great!

Shorty:
How many miles on your D? The Lifetime policy I bought from Clay was for my '14 Charger AWD which had just over 30K on it at the time. The price was inline with your quote.
I think being over 12K bumps the price up a bit.

Being under 12 months and 12K would seem to rule out those factors. There may have been a price increase with the new fiscal year. I would ask Clay straight out. I believe he will give you the skinny on it.

Clay has a great reputation on this forum. I also purchased the MaxCare unlimited w/$100 deductible and while it was cheaper than you are quoting here, it was a year a go when I transacted business with him. Perhaps his prices have gone up. As others have mentioned, I would ask him straight-out. He's a good guy and would give you an honest answer.

That's still good. I got a flyer from FCA with a "discount" coupon for the Maxcare plan. Called the number and they quoted me $3600+ for the same plan I bought from Clay.

I got the same quote from clay for my 17 rt with 11k miles. 2535 life time and 2110 for 8yr 125k miles. Still on the fence between which warranty i want. 8yr is transferable which is a huge plus for resale.

If you plan to keep your D for longer than 8 years or 125K miles, the Lifetime is the way to go. I have found that when it comes to sale time, some folks will pay more if the vehicle has a transferable warranty, and some won't. I plan to have my '14 Charger R/T for at least 10 years, so I went with the Lifetime.

I dont know if ill keep it more than 10 years but i have a feeling i might hit that 125k mark fast. My daughter is 3 now. We live in miami,fl and have a annual pass to lego land. This December we p0lan on getting a Disney annual pass. And we love the keys. Kinda think of it i might get the lifetime. Gonna contact clay now ?

I got a quote for $2415 online for the Lifetime.

I have it on our 09 minivan that has over 165K miles on it. The nice thing is that when you take it in for service because it's through at that time Chrysler there is never an issue with coverage. Case in point we had a starting issue where sometimes it simply would not start, paid my $100 and several trips later they finally got it right. This is by way of saying that you only pay once and if the dealer can't figure it out they are more then willing to keep throwing parts at it until they stumble upon the actual cause. I'm not sure how a third party warranty would handle that. I have it on my 15 Durango and more then likely it will become one of my kids first car. IMHO worth the price for piece of mind. Down side no Whipple charger for me

Page 8 of my Mopar Life time service contracts states:
"This plan is not transferable to subsequent owners or lessees, even if they are within the same family or business"

To the best of my knowledge, all other plans are transferable.
