Mine updated Thursday evening. Must say I am under-impressed. The update added 2 icons to the bottom of the screen, one of which is to blank the screen.....umm...we already had a hard button for that. Does not appear to be a way to remove the new buttons on the bottom row, but in the "app screen" you can add buttons to the bottom row, I suppose as a shortcut of sorts. Other changes noted are that if you do a reboot (hold volume + tune for about 7 seconds) you no longer have to reset the time afterwards. Playing mp3 from a usb drive seems to have some new issues. Silence between tracks is sometimes 30 seconds where it was 1-2 seconds. Songs will sometimes just stop, for several seconds, then start back up where they left off. Selecting an options button, "climate" for example, seems to take several times as long as it used to do display the selected screen. After in the climate screen, it might take 2-3 presses of a on screen button to get it to take action, even though the button high lights when touched, indicating the screen recognized the touch, and after these 2-3 touches, it may take a few more seconds longer to actually perform the requested action. And sometimes, the mp3 playing will jump, skip, or pause while the command is being performed. None of these were noted on the factory loaded software. With all that said, it could be the software update is still configuring itself, so these issues may work out over time.
Just my observations.
The update download was triggered by putting the truck in park. Each time Thursday I made a stop and put it in park, the update message would pop up on the screen. I kept telling it later, and finally let it update when I got home. The actual download took about 20 minutes, then about 10 minutes more while it did some initial setup before I could shut the engine off.
