OK, this is a new thing for me with this D. While replacing my shocks today...noticed something underneath. Is the part of the exhuast (stock exhaust) right before the tailpipe, a muffler or something else? I thought the muffler was the much larger part of the exhaust much more towards the center, near the gas tank, This device right near the tailpipe has nice big hole in the top, and needs to be replaced, just wondering how much this will cost..this truck was not suppose to cost me all the money I needed to put into my 04 Ram that I traded it for. And wasnt planning to be doing all sorts of repairs.

Sometimes it goes "catalytic converter to muffler to resonator" like the 3rd gens, sometimes it goes "catalytic converter resonator muffler." Replace with a muffler of your choice and you'll be perfectly fly okay

OK, I thought that it may be the resonator...I have no clue what that is, Ive never had a vehicle that has this. I read that if you take it off, you get drone. And it seems that there may only be one company that actually make this for the Durango, every web site I went to had the same item fro Walker, ranging from 53 to 63 dollars.

I was going to upgrade the exhaust, but Im just keeping it stock for now...so it looks like that Walker unit is what I go with...since its the only choice.

Just had an exhaust shop upgrade my exhaust to Magnaflow. Sounds great..there is some drone though..not like the Flowmasters on my Ram but some drone. I wanted to run duals but he wouldn't do it. He felt that it was unsafe because of all the plumbing, gas tank etc jammed on the left side of the Durango. I showed him some of the different photos off the web and we put it on a lift and looked under and around and he said he wouldn't feel safe doing it. He's an excellent exhaust guy and has done work for me in the past so I went with his suggestion of Magnaflow and larger exhaust pipes. Sounds and looks good..
