The powerball works, the major reason I don't use it except for light cleaning is because it leaves a film you have to manually remove afterwards from my experience on non-clearcoated rims. On clearcoat rims it might be a very easy process.

If you have non-clearcoated rims I'd get a buffing wheel from Sears and some rogue with a power drill. I used a Craftsman Buffing Wheel in 6" and 4" sizes.

I used white (normal), then green (finish) rogue. The nice thing about this process is you can see your progress. You don't have to stop and use elbow grease to see what's under the coating. With the rogue there's no coating. I use these on some Centerline Hellicat wheels on a bench. I just found the rogue to be 4x easier and here are my results. I bet the mothers powerball is fine for just a simple touchup.

Hey my roommate got one of those and I tried to do it on my Durango. I couldn't get it to work on my R/T rims because it wouldn't fit in a lot of the gaps.
Patrick - the R/T wheels should be clearcoated and respond well to a simple cleaner wax and polish. The wheels on my minivan have a similiar finish and I've maintained them this way for 7 years.

A mini-ball should fit. My R/T wheels are powdercoated so they don't take wax anymore.
