Philips X-tremevision are the way to go.

Exact match to the OEM headlights and are easy to install.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00U2NHLTI/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Other places have them around $150 for the set, but, Amazon is a great option and much cheaper.

Install is easy. Takes about 5 minutes and you just need to swap the bulbs, zip tie the harness and you're set.

Here's a pic after they were installed.

Passenger side is the OEM fog light, Driver's side is the Philips LED fog light.

Here's mine with headlights on too. Pass side is Phillips Xtreme LED linked above, Driver side is stock.

Took 2 minutes to swap them out.

Mine are Opt7 Cree V2...

It is surprisingly easy to pop them out and replace - you need H11 size bulb. No need for ramps or anything just crawl under there. I went with yellow led fogs, I just like the look better than white.

Well crap. Now I just had to go spend some money! LOL. I didn't realize how far off the factory ones were until this was posted. Phillips are on the way :)

Chris

Are the Phillips really an exact match? They list the color temp as 6000k, where the factory HIDs are certainly not 6000k
They really are that close. Maybe if you have extremely focused optical senses, they may not be 100%.

To me, once I started driving at night and looked at the front of the car, they looked pretty damn close to me.

I'll try and grab you a pic tonight when I get home so you can see the comparison of them both on.

From the pics, they look lots closer than what I have in there from the factory, that's for sure.

Cool thanks. I tried a whole bunch of bulbs, all were definitely more along the lines of white/blue

They are a dead on match for the LED DRL's. They are really close to the HID headlights when looking straight on looking into the beam, as if you were an oncoming car. The HID's are a little "less blue" when you are looking at them from the side compared to the LED fogs. All around they match much better and are certainly brighter than the stock lamps and seem have a bit more reach.

That being said, true fog lamps are going to perform better if they are 2500k-3000k range and pure yellow - you get better penetration and less reflection in snow and fog with the lower wave length. The contrast between your fog and driving lights gives you better/different depth perception. The lower placement of the fixtures also helps create shadows by road imperfections making them easier to see, and of course a wider light field so you can track road lines easier.

Its really a personal preference thing, but I can say I had OCD issues with the stock halogens and I feel much better knowing things match up better now, lol, I sleep better... If the color match doesn't make you twitch, save your $! If you want better fog visibility and contrast, get yellows.

I did try taking pictures at different angles at night with different combos of lights with my phone but the iris is open so far that the subtle color differences are lost.

I snapped a pic but it is not the best. You may be able to see the color a bit, but it is bright.

I have yellow bulbs in there now because of my OCD lol! I'd rather have it be a total mismatch than close but not close enough. Plus the yellow bulbs are a lot cheaper than the Phillips

Ok so maybe I am dumb, but with the Phillips bulbs.....

Do you just plug the new Phillips plug into the factory plug that was connected to the OEM fog light? If not, do you need to take off the schroud to get to the factory plug?

I am a little confused, as I thought these were plug and play (which I am sure they are if I were not a dope)

Thanks in advance :)

Chris

Is it really H11 in the foglights? In the OM of my 2011 it says PSX24W repkacement bulbs for the foglights and H11 if it's not HID.
