Mine is a 14 so I'm good to go. Now, is it worth it on a 3.6?
A handheld tuner is more than just accessing more power and custom tunes. It also reads and clears DTCs so you don't have to mess around with a dealership charging you $100 for a "diagnostic fee" just to tell you they could not find anything wrong. I recommend a tuner, intake, and exhaust--in that order.

Now that I'm on my computer and not my phone, I see you're in Virginia Beach. I would recommend getting in touch with Brent Hughes at DTP Racing.

His dyno is RWD-only but I bet he has an AWD dyno somewhere around him that he can use. He is easily one of the best in the modern Hemi tuning world and I used him for a tune on my boosted V6--it never got finished but Brent was awesome the entire time I was dealing with him.

I don't know how much he's worked on the Pentastar but (if I was in your area) he would be my first stop for a custom tune rather than a canned tune.

However, you can probably just run one of the canned tunes and you'll still be happy.

Thanks! Brent is actually a good friend of mine. He hasn't really messed with the penastar awhile lot but he said if I'm interested we can see what we can do with it.
Then you would be stupid to not take him up on that! lol

I wanted Brent to tune my Durango when I first got the Whipple but he said basically the same thing about not having a lot of experience in the 8spd Durango yet. He recommended I use one of the other tuners that I was also interested in. It takes some chops to turn down a job if he's not 100% confident he can do it right. That was over a year ago and I'm STILL trying to get a good tune....

I should be moving next summer and if it's anywhere along the east coast like I hope, he's going to be one of my first stops...maybe even before checking in with work....lol.

Bryan - i thought you were good now on the tune, putting down huge reliable power and good driveability. Are you still in the tune phase or just looking for more power ? Hopefully its running great and just a quest for even more power. I know its addicting. I can make you a smaller SC pulley if you want more boost, provided belt slip isnt an issue.

No, we still don't have a tune that I'm happy with. I'm able to drive it without major issues but we still don't have a clean pull on the dyno and my exhaust smells rich (richer than I think it should be even with no cats) but every so often I get a code for AFR imbalance between cylinders.

We can't make a full pull because sometimes it doesn't shift from 1-2 so the trans goes into limp mode.

We only got a baseline pull on the dyno the last time I went because one of the straps broke and my truck fell halfway off the rollers. We haven't been back or been able to make any adjustments to the tune since then. There's a guy in Houston that has done some good things with Mopars (and has fixed a few of the cars that my current tuner has worked on) so I'm going to give him a shot on the 29th.

Thanks for the offer about the pulley, but belt slip isn't an issue and I'm not ready to pulley down quite yet. When the time comes to drop pulley sizes, I don't know if I'll get one from Whipple or look into the 8-rib custom pulleys that Dave Weber started making.

I'm adding methanol injection right now and I'm spraying through the blower case and most folks usually end up seeing an extra .5-1psi of boost just from the spray closing up the tolerances between the rotors. I think I'll set it to come on at 25% at 2psi and ramp up to 100% by 7psi.

Used my new Griot's Garage G15 long-throw polisher, experimenting with a few pads and polishes, to get pretty much perfectly defect-free paint. I HIGHLY recommend this tool, so far. I bet the even longer-throw G21 would be great too, now that I've put my G15 to use. But, there's always Christmas. Anyway, show-off pics of the success:

Chems used (paint wasn't in bad shape), Meg's Ultimate Polish (great stuff for an off-the-shelf product), Meg's pro 205 light polish (in spots), Chemical Guy's Glossworkz glaze/polish, CG Butter Wet wax to top it.

I was able to do the same work in 1/2 the time with this beast polisher.

The only thing I can't fix (without wet-sanding) is the factory's ripples in the clear. I think they send the cars down the paintshop line a little too fast, IMO.

Intalled following on my 14 limited...

Hitch/wiring
Mudguards
CleanCutDecals "DURANGO" door sill guards

Washed /waxed

How many miles you have ? Mines got faster with more miles.
3600, I can tell a difference with the tb just installed. Did a Dyno with exhaust and cai few weeks back and had 323 hp and 338 torque. Who knows if those numbers are in the ballpark, gonna go back to same Dyno after tune and see what happens.

Deff the highest all motor stock tune numbers I've seen.

Yea I thought they were high as well with just exhaust and cai.

What type dyno was it? Dynojets tend to be a little higher than Mustangs. Mustang dynos are more realistic (accurate) since they provide resistance more like what the vehicle will experience on the road.

Yea it was dynojet. Probably go back to same place just to compare if and when I get a tune.

Your numbers I've heard of with your bolt ons and a tune.
Stock tune bt on cars are like 290whp from what I've seen.

Looks good! How did you do your yellow fog lights?
