So paul, I had something happen and immediately thought of this discussion. I now have an RT and last night put a K&N intake on it. When I was done, I took it for a ride and proceeded to redline it down the road. When I got back, my wife said "please tell me that wasn't you I could hear over the tv". Um, yup it was. She said "if the intake made it that loud then I need to take it back off". Um, nope. That's not gonna happen. I never really romped on it with her in it, so I guess I kinda asked for it, but no mod is getting taken back off. She just hadn't heard those hemi farts before. Guess she was having flash backs from my very loud trucks
Hell, my wife road in the Hellcat once and said never again. I am not allowed to take it out of the garage unless the baby and SHE is awake.

This morning I left with the Hellcat at 4:30am, I had to open the garage, unzip the bubble and push the car all the way down the driveway before starting it....

Next time, blame it on a neighbor, a kid, a dog or anything but you.

Seriously, what was I thinking? Think I need that exhaust now lol
Yes you do. Find an exhaust shop that's open tomorrow, or grab the sawzaw and a beer...

C'mon... I'd be in tears if I saw someone pushing their car down the road before starting it!

Im still thinking about doing the rear mufflex delete. That'd pissed her off for sure haha. Then I'd have to explain why I had to take it off lol

I was thinking and I think you took the most extreme and most expensive way of getting your louder exhaust system. She had to still hear it start up though!

Had a ton of arguments over my previous ride, 2003 BMW M3. Probably all started because I came home one night (happened to be her birthday) having traded in a Ford Explorer on the M3. Now the Explorer was supposed to be the sign that I was maturing you see and, well, it obviously didn't take.

So this time around I included her in the process and we picked up the Durango.

Did manage to find, pick up, store and install dual exhaust off an R/T, including new, dual outlet rear valence without alerting her to the plan. Called it "operation couch" as that's where I would have been sleeping if she would have caught on. Plan was nearly foiled when the hangers and silencer for the single to dual conversion were shipped to the house instead of work. I put on my best confused face and declared that it was definitely not the license plate frames I had ordered and had no idea what these weird parts were even for...

So that's it, I'm done. Except for the AFE CAI sitting at work I have to install; and the billet engine compartment goodies, and the engine cover custom paint job, and of course, the fender hashes. Then that's it, I'm done. For sure. Maybe. Probably not.

Did have to let her know about switching the wheels though as I sorta figured she'd notice that one. I do have the order from home and ship to work bit down pat though.

I am reasonably sure that this "condition" is like people say with tattoos, you keep wanting another one. Who knows? Anyway, if your wife/girlfriend is on board, you don't realize how lucky you are. Keep that "unicorn" close and don't ever let her go!!

You guys must be Noobs! [emoji6] my wife knows full well why my vehicles sound like they want to rip your heart out. Like the time we were going through a toll booth and some jagoff in a Prius was taking 5 minutes to pay the guy (I forgot ezpass) so I banged the throttle a couple of times in my car. I finally get up to the guy to hand him my cash and he looks down at me and says "let's see what she can do!" My wife looks at me and says "this is why you bought this car isn't it?" Hehehe! Yep!

My wife has to put up with my car-a-year problem as it is, but then I can't leave them alone. As I said before, my trucks were very loud and I told her I wouldn't do that to the Durango since it really is obnoxious to pull a camper for hours with a loud exhaust. So, I can do just about anything I want, but when the Durango gets louder im going to have to explain myself

Explain it this way, some guys put loud pipes on their bikes so other drivers know that they are there. You are doing it for the same reason for safety's sake...

I feel bad for you guys who can't have real sounding cars. I am sure your wives would hate some of my cars. When my wife went for her first ride in the TA she was in love with the rumble from the exhaust. When I picked up the M5 I drove for a year with the stock exhaust before I decided it was too quiet so I removed the rear mufflers and had some custom pipes made. the sound is incredible and the wife loves it. maybe in a year I will swap out her exhaust for something louder.

Mine sounds really "REAL"! Corsa FTW!

sounds great. Always loved those G8s. Too bad GM discontinued the brand and only turned out the current Impala SS which just doesn't look like a proper muscle car, although very capable... My buddy had an early 2000's GXP and that thing was plenty quick for a sedan at the time.

They have the Chevy SS which is a VF commodore in AU. They're everything the G8 is and more. The interiors are AWESOME on them and they come with the tried and true LS3 engine, M6, and magnetic ride control.

a friend bought one, they are nice but the exterior styling is bland.

Well I'm guessing you weren't towing with those loud ass cars. My 06 Ram was so loud that I couldn't stand towing a job trailer for more than an hour. That's just no fun at that point and what my wife wants to avoid... and so do I

no but I've towed with other "loud ass" trucks. and not just across town 1000+ mile tows. Ive also driven all my cars on 1000+ mile road trips with and without the family usually 2-3 times a year.

Drone is usually the cause of the fatigue more so than the sound. Corsa has no drone, therefore much less fatigue.
