D lovers, I am at the tint shop and the Durango went crazy with the horn, wipers and the rear windows went half way down and stopped. The dash has every light known to man on, and the D is unresponsive. Thoughts?

Have it towed to the dealership and tell them to fix it. Scary if you ask me....and since its so new...its their issue.

I'd be a bit upset...hope it works out.

One weird problem :(

So we called a Dodge mech, he told us to use the physical key to lock and unlock the door. Then try again. it worked and the car is now working. the check engine light is on but the car is drivable. HE stated that the Vehicle lock out feature must have been activated during the tinting process...... not sure but it is now drivable.

thanks

OK here is what we think happened. They replaced the drivers door panel. I guess when that happened that car thought that it was being stolen(?). So the thief deterrent system kicked in, being that the fob was in the car, it got confused. When they pulled the power to the battery, I guess something really went afoul.

Long story short. The called the Dodge mech guy who told them to use the key to unlock the car and lock the car reset things. The check engine light was on for a bit but that has gone off. Interesting morning.

yes, interesting morning. but if that ever happens again you'll know how to deal with it.

my daily driver used to be a 2001 Intrepid R/T that I bought used. apparently the transmission had been worked on by the original owner and the shift cable was slightly off. the dash readout would say it was in P but the lock out wasn't actually engaged so it wouldn't start. the first time it happened I had to have it towed to a local shop. who then was able to start it right up of course. after studying the car I realized what was happening and I learned to put the gear selector in P pretty firmly.

after a while that just became a natural habit and when someone else would drive the car they wouldn't know to do and I got a couple calls saying the car wouldn't start.

not exactly the same situation as yours but along the line of once you learn your vehicle you'll be able to deal with that if it ever comes up again.
