I got P0500 obd2 code?

Ok I did a search on here and found a few threads that mention this problem

Now the thing is that they mention that they have the brake and abs light on along with this code
and also their speedometer is not working

For me its only the code no other lights on the dashboard and my speedometer is working fine
Any advice?

I'm still guessing the rear axle speed sensor.. which has been known to go out.. maybe it isn't totally bad, so your speedo is behaving OK under 20MPH..

my 99 FSM doesn't have P0500, which is also interesting..

Hey do you know if i can test it with a multimeter or something?
Just to make sure thats the problem

I don't know of any test other than replacement..

sometime they can get gummed up with metal shavings, you could try yanking it and cleaning it up to see if that helps.. but i'm not overly hopeful about that..

I had that same code a while back with no dash lights and speedo worked fine.

I replaced both the input and output speed sensors on the transmission and the ABS wheel speed sensor in the rear and all was well after that.

The sensors are fairly cheap and its a easy fix.

ill try the rear sensor first and see if that solves the problem
