My water pump on my 05 didn't fail but, I did change it at 175k when I replaced the radiator, thermostat, engine coolant temp sensor, and radiator hoses.

My radiator was clogged all up and I figured might as well cover everything since I was at 175k.

Mine is a 3.7L.

You have a 3.7 with 175k on it? Original?

Original motor and I have 202,527 miles on it now.
I put a used trans in at 178k due to someone not knowing what they were doing putting a shift solenoid in and fried out my trans.
Replaced original radiator at 175k.
My only bad issue with my D was a electrical demon and I have had to rewire quite a bit.

Knock on wood it keeps going strong.
I have been blessed with this Durango.
Original trans being a 42RLE made it to 178k motor has held up strong.

I have always changed the oil at 3-4k conventional oil but, just switched to full synthetic at last change.
I think I caught the leaking cowl screen in time.
Only misfired a handful of times and when I realized the spark plugs would be damp I used metal tape and silicone and sealed up around the wiper arms.
Put a towel over the motor just to be safe and it stays dry.

I have heard some horror stories about the 3.7L and even more about the 42RLE but, had that guy not screwed up putting the check valve balls in the wrong places on the valve body when he did the shift solenoid change I think the trans would have kept on going for a while too.

My water pump started making noise at 12k and had it replaced. I'm at 28k with no issues so far.

Ours just got replaced this week at 37k miles. Sounded like a bunch of birds chirping under the hood. When I checked it out there was a rusty almost metallic like fine dust spewing out from the front of the pulley. No problems replacing it with the power train warranty

I'm glad to read this. I just noticed a weird sound the other day, faint. Could smell at the odd time a faint sweat odour of coolant. Today the noise was louder and almost a rhythmic grounding noise. Sounded to me like one of the belt wheels were loose or something. After reading this I'm pretty sure its the water pump. I found a small pool of orange or redish liquid under the car today as well. I bought mine brand new with 4km's on it. I have 30,000km on it. Man was i pissed. Brand new vehicle with a problem like this Argh. At least it's warranty work. Thanks for this post.

Well I think I jinxed myself.
Have squeak and sounds like bearing rattle from front of engine so I'm guessing it is the water pump on the way out.
46K.

Calling tomk or anyone with access to SM on '14 Hemi.

Can you post water pump removal/install please?
Would like to know if there is gasket material used and TQ rating of bolts.
I might swap it out to the 6.4L pump and oil cooler.
Bought the '14D SM CD, but not sure it will be here by weekend.
