I hear you brother, I am just not sure the wife has the patience to wait for them to come in. However, we cant get to the other side of the mountains because of snow so........we will see. When doing the math, I see the costs as being a wash however there is the sport mode and the new functionality of the new uconnect. What else am I missing?
To give you some perspective, here's the invoice numbers on our 2016 R/T order (RWD). After negotiation and 2 incentives ($750 consumer cash + $500 mailer), we're getting it for $42,532.

If you go for the 2015, I'd tell them they have to do better than what you're being quoted. As for the wife, mine loves technology gadgets, so the improved uConnect was worth waiting for her. Also, 2016 R/T has a lot features as standard which are optional for 2015 R/T. Like Napa leather, heated steering, ventilated seats, etc..). So like for like, at the prices you're being quoted, the 2016 seems a better deal to me.

so here is a 2016 RT blacktop (minus the rear console) and a 2015 priced out the same way (minus the blacktop) You are right the 16 seems to be $445.00 cheaper.

Right, so the dealer should be able to make you a great deal on a 2015. You should be able to get the 2016 for below the FFP if you hold out and put different dealers against each other. So for the 2015, it should be an even better price since it'll be considered old stock soon. Especially that one you posted with almost 1000 miles on it.

Of couse, getting exactly what you want now is sometimes worth paying a premium. And if your wife is impatient, and is with you during negotiations, the salesman will definitely pick up on it and be less willing to go lower.

Do you need AWD?

I just ordered a 2016 R/T, RWD .... Mine has everything your order shows except the rear buckets, the rear console, and the rear entertainment (ie: $3300 MSRP of options)

My MSRP was $47,175 and I landed at $43,782 for the 2016 after negotiations. (This is without any 2016 incentives which may be coming)
So I pretty much got 7.2% below MSRP. If I added the $3300 of options you have above, the MSRP would have been $50,475 (it's RWD remember). 7.2% off on that would net $46,840.80 for the RWD 2016 model with all the same options and features.

Considering you are dealing with a $1250 cash back incentive, I think you can do much better on the 2015. Especially once the 2016's arrive. If you're happy with the deal they offered, I'd ask why you don't just order a 2016 instead?

The 2016 has a lot of the 2015 options as standard now (the better U-Connect system, Napa, etc ...). The 2016's tech is improved over the 2015 as well (Built in Siri is the one my wife is excited about). Also, the 2016 R/T specs show it to be 20mm lower to the ground than the 2015 R/T. The 2015 R/T's already handle very good for an SUV, I can imagine the 20mm lower will further enhance the handling.

The one benefit you do get on the 2015 is the 5 year Sirius subscription though, as the 2016's are back to 1 year. We currently pay about $250 a year for our full Sirius subscription (with traffic and weather), so an additional 4 years is worth about $1000.

If it were me, I'd either hold off for a better deal on the 2015, or I'd order a 2016.
A BIG THANK YOU! I was set to go get the 15 with 971 miles and then "your words kept ringing in my ears" So I broadened the search out and found this one... New 2015 Dodge Durango R/T For Sale | Nampa ID for $45.5K it's not my favorite color combo but it proves my deal wasn't a great deal.

Fast forward to this morning. The phone rings while I was watching cartoons with my daughters....I almost didn't answer, but I did. A dealership that I hadn't talked to in about a week calls and says I have your car in "C" status..
Black on black, blacktop, sunroof, tech, tow for $47,770 out the door (minus sales tax). That price includes tinting the front windows, and sealant......it doesn't include any rebates that will be available, So I can expect a lower price and it should arrive very close to my Birthday.

Happy Wife......

Great, your welcome!

Does that price include any incentives? I assume not, considering it's in C status. You may get an even better price when it's delivered, if there are incentives available.

I would seriously do your research on Dodge Uconnect before you put ANY emphasis on that feature for your purchase. It is quite literally - WORTHLESS - and will continue as such for anyone that has a smartphone circa 2008+.

Do not use Uconnect as your reasoning to buy, you will be disappointed.

For an optioned out vehicle like you're considering, you will inevitably end up with it as part of the package, but you just wont use it for more than radio/XM. Its features are outdated, dont work well, or wont work at all.

if there is any way to save the $900, do it.

Also, someone said before using the Uconnect hotspot - again - WORTHLESS. Dont bother. I tried it 1 day, saw download speeds of <1 mbs all over metro Atlanta. Pathetic waste.

The rest of the truck is spot on. Definitely opt for the blacktop package. And there is NO bad color combo for an RT. They all look insane, it makes it hard to choose !

We already own a 2012 Crew, and we actually love the uConnect. It does what it's supposed to do, and we use it all the time. Although it is the only vehicle we have with this sort of integration, so we've nothing else to compare it with. We also both have iPhones, so I'm not sure if that has an impact on the experience?

We already ordered ours, and it's in transit to the dealership. R/T, redline, black interior, tech, tow and sunroof. The uConnect 8.4AN is now standard on the R/T, so there's nothing to upgrade.

As for the blacktop package, I do understand why everyone is so excited by it, but personally, I don't like it. I think 20 years ago I probably would have loved it, but for some reason, the whole blacked out thing just doesn't appeal to me. I also don't like the chrome features of the citadel. The 2012 Crew we have now is Molten Red, and we really like the way that looks. It's a great mix of the deep red, some chrome, and black on the exterior. If we could have opted for the same exterior look in a 2016 R/T, we would have done it; but it's not an option.

They're just mad they have to wear mom jeans while driving their vehicles. :D

(Note: the mom jeans requirement only applies to the 3rd gen Pilot design.)

Getting close! If it's in paint today, it should be ready to ship over the weekend.

It's like a kid waiting for Christmas morning...!

It'll get there...! Hang in there!

KZ M Come to Papa! I must admit, I am concerned at the lack of issues reported on this forum. Its like there are only a few items that folks raising to my attention. Check the paint, but its not a huge issue, but check it. Don't get upset when my gas mileage is not as high as my Pilot, and go get a massage from the perm-a-grin that I will get from putting the car in sport mode. Ok I can handle all of that, but what else should I be checking?

Thanks

Sorry Pilot, but you Gots to GO!!
