We ordered a 2016 R/T on Nov 21st and still haven't taken delivery. It's supposed to show up any day now though.

My 2016 R/T took exactly 7 weeks from order date to delivery date. I was monitoring each step. As davewg mentioned, the actual build happens very quickly. Most of the time is spent scheduling and preparing for the build. After the build, they usually spend a day or two in inspection. Then depending on where you are located, it takes a couple of weeks to get it delivered to your dealer.

I'm not sure why some move through D1 status faster than others. Maybe it depends on the availability of certain options or configurations.

6-9 weeks is normal time.
They will start coming in real soon

Is the residual % calculated using MSRP or invoice?
I always assumed it was based on MSRP, but I'd love to know the answer to this as well.
Residual is calculated from MSRP.

Here's an example I did up for a Limited AWD at 36 months and 10k per year (this was the lowest calculated payment I found between the Limited and Citadel).

Cap cost is the negotiated price of the vehicle. What I have below is based on affiliate pricing (invoice - 1%) plus some additional off that still gives them a decent amount of the holdback (~3% of invoice).

MSRP 47965
MF 0.00012
MF as APR 0.288
Lease Term 36
Residual % 0.52
Residual Value 24941.8 (MSRP * residual %)
Cap Cost 44700
Incentives+Other Cap Cost Reduction (i.e. trade/downpayment) 500
Net Cap Cost 44200
Depreciation 19258.2 (Net Cap cost - residual)
Monthly Dep 534.95 (Depreciation / lease term)

MF Interest 8.30 (cap cost + residual) * MF
Monthly Dep 534.95 (from above)

Monthly $ 543.25 (MF interest + monthly depreciation)

I just realized that the MF interest should probably be (net cap cost + residual) * MF.

I noticed another small difference between the 2015's and 2016's. In the 2015 Limited loaner we had, the sensors up near the rear view mirror were on a box that sits about 2-3 inches back from the windshield. The auto high/low beam dimming wasn't working, and then realized it was because of a dealer ID tag taped to the inside of the windshield right in front of the sensors.

Well on the 2016, those sensors are mounted to a piece which is fixed to the windshield. See pic:

Just thought I'd throw another pic in, for those living vicariously :)

One observation: The motor cover isn't secured very well. It basically has one secure attachment point at the back/driver's side. Then has several other mounting posts, that don't seem to lock in; but just provide a resting point. Either way, it looks nice!

The sport mode is great! It makes the steering feel heavier, and more sensitive as well. I'm really enjoying the sport suspension when compared to our old 2012 Crew and the 2015 Limited we had as a loaner. The reduced body roll and tight steering feels really good. I'm impressed with the lateral grip it seems to have. I wonder how it would do on a skid pad?

Sport also changes the shift points, for both upshifts and downshfts. For example, when pulling out of a parking lot, and sport is enabled, it's staying in 1st gear until the RPMs get up to 3500 or so; even with the throttle only at 1/8%. Without sport mode enabled, with the same throttle applied, it shifts up to 3rd or so when pulling out of the same parking lot. It's also predicting which gear to be in when decelerating. So hitting the brakes to slow down for a turn off a 4 lane road onto a side road, by the time I've made the turn and am ready to give it gas again, it's already down to the right gear to allow maximum acceleration when I hit the gas. Seems like it's downshifting one or two more gears than normal, so the RPMs are higher when getting back on the gas.

Not sure what, if anything, it is doing to the engine, but with the shift points being adjusted, it certainly feels better. It would be interesting if the sport mode also made timing and fuelling adjustments. Hmmm, I wonder if the aftermarket tuning community could dual-load a tune so when sport mode is enabled, the PCM uses different tables? Now that would be the ideal sport mode!

I haven't brought it above 4k RPMs yet though, as I'm waiting to get at least 500 mi on the OD before doing that. So I can't comment on how all of these things act together when driving aggressively ... but I'm anxious to find out :D

Ahhh, I personally don't worry about gas mileage. Especially with the vehicles I drive. If they offered the Durango in an SRT package, or a scat pack, or even a hellcat .... I would have bought it :)

We are on about the same time line and I agree with your descriptions completely about the sport mode. Really have been going easy as we are around 300 miles on the ticker. However, Sport Mode really liven's up the car... it honestly makes it scream. Interestingly, I am coming from a 2015 Citadel Hemi but I feel like this RT has 20-30 more HP than the Citadel. The ride feels a little tighter but I need more seat time to say for sure. This is my wife's daily driver...so my seat time is limited to the weekend and a few quick runs after work.

Same situation here. It's the wife's daily driver, mainly used to shuttle our 2 kids around. Although I work from home, so I've been using it to run out for errands. I think we're around 110 miles right now. Drove it home on Monday with 9mi on the OD.

When we bought our 2012 crew, we considered the Citadel too; but found if we added all the features to the Crew that the citadel came with, it was cheaper to get the Crew. On top of that, we personally don't like the chrome mirrors, door handles, grille, etc ...

For this latest purchase, the Hemi was required, so the R/T was the only option for us.

What is it about the Citadel you like over the Limited?

I think we're getting closer to pulling the trigger. It's sort of a winding road getting there....

Trying now to decide if the extra $2k is worth it for the Citadel over the Limited.
Unless you want the R/T look in your Limited, or you're not going to option the Premium Group.
But if you are going to add the Premium Group and even more so also add the Safety Group, you're way better off with the Citadel as it will actually be less.
So it will depend upon how you option out a Limited.

But consider the Citadel has better leather seats, different foam padding and they are ventilated and additional chrome bits.
I would expect better resale too over a Limited.
