$480 is a bit steep... I might be a buyer around $200. I'm curious why Jeep had them on the last gen SRT factory and not on the current one which is the same platform basically as us. I'm new to Mopar but have had them on other cars. As nice as that looks it probably isn't any more functional than a stamped steel piece. I also don't know if it might be too stiff, and make the rear twist a bit or crack something under hard cornering.

I doubt they will negotiate at all they have exclusive rights to that strut bar from Arrington. Arrington wont even sell directly
Its worth $350 or so

New designed chassis is stiffer then the last gen

Will a strut bar improve the handling? Is it that noticeable?
The below is just my opinon...

Almost undoubtedly... no. A strut bar ties the tops of the struts together in order to fight the forces of physics changing camber or other suspension settings during high grip, high-g cornering. If you think it looks cool and have the money to burn, then by all means get one. But honestly, look at it as a dress-up item, like a chrome thingamajig or carbon fiber doodad. A strut bar is a high cost, low benefit item. It could improve or detract from how you perceive that your vehicle handles, probably mostly depending on how much chassis flex was a determinant when the engineers tuned the chassis and suspension.

With otherwise stock suspension and street tires, you probably won't notice a thing outside of being slightly faster due to a lighter wallet.

I agree, the unibody is already very stiff. Besides if you don't add a rear brace also you'll be throwing the balance off. You'd probably need to be lowered with stiff suspension and cornering beyond the trucks limits. I added them front and rear on my wife's 07 Impala and it made a big difference but that's cause the chassis is a marshmallow. On my Acura TL it came with a front strut bar but that thing was already such a stiff chassis you couldn't really tell the difference with it on or off (I did coilovers and had it off at first). If you look at the SRT Jeep, the last gen had one factory, the current one doesn't which is our platform so I can't see why they'd leave it off the SRT if it would help. I'd even be afraid (slim chance) of cracking something by overstiffening.

Any way you can post Enrique's email or phone #? I don't use Facebook or have an account. I am not in witness protection or anything but may have dated a few psychos In the past I don't need to reconnect with. LOL! Greatly appreciated. Thanks.

regardng the comments above about the strut brace not being a worthy mod - how would you know ? the the comparison made to those other vehicles is not accurate. Those are much lighter, with a much lower cg. The durango is very heavy, has very grippy 20" wheels, and sits very tall. It wouldnt surprise me at all to learn the strut towers deflect badly under load. I mean, right out of the box you cant argue this truck doesnt handle turns all that well ! Be nice to have some before/after comparisons to see.

I thought they were going to add a center turn buckle to allow you to preload the bar to get it to the factory correct length between strut tower centers. what happened to that ?

I messaged him to come here and let you guys know availabilty

Hi All

Yes I make a Strut Bar for the 3rd Gen Ds.

I am taking orders again and begin making strut bars tomorrow. The strut bar is $250.00 plus $25.00 shipping. That includes powder coating of a basic color. Turnaround time will be about 5-7 days. Depends how fast I can get at least 10 orders to start. It is made from thick steel not thin tubing and steel plate. This is a sturdy and was made to last and looks great under the hood.

Please message me or email me @ rickyroman3rd@hotmaill.com if you are interested.

I am posting pics of a few who have bought the Strut bar and shared the pics. If you bought one please feel to post a pic or comment.
