Holy cow.. I just debadged the light in literally, not kidding, under 30 seconds. Needle nose plier.. they pulled off with minimal effort. A few of them (like the "E") broke pulling them off, but I'm shocked at how easy that was.

Ok.. now.. what's the best way to get rid of the "DURANGO" lettering?
I was amazed too.

To debadge the rest, I heard the best way is a heat gun and dental floss.

Man I cant believe how unnecessarily I was dreading this little project because of the potential for screwups that mar the paint..

The DODGE on the lights pulled off literally in 30 seconds with a pliers and left no residue at all...

The DURANGO pulled off with nothing more than fishing line in about 60 seconds. No heat gun. Just fishing line. Maybe the heat and humidity here?

Now I just gotta use the goo-gone.

ok.. this is done.

Before and after... I let the sun heat up the adhesive then used Goo-Gone and one of those flat plastic things they use to put vinyl on, a little elbow grease, a lot of wiping and cleaning and wiping and cleaning then washing and a little spray way, and presto. Total time start to finish (if I hadn't waited for the afternoon sun to warm it up) was about 30 minutes.

Needle Nose pliers? grab hold of a letter front with the needle nose pliers. firmly and steadily and forcefully pull straight off. The n-n-pliers shouldnt be anywhere near the lights. That way youre not even touching the lights to be able to scratch them. Requires about the same amount of force as pulling a cork thats half way out of a wine bottle.

Thanks for the info. Another one done. Took me a couple of minutes as I wanted to take my time. Didn't heat them up, but used needle nose as well. Very easy. Left no adhesive at all. As it's a lease, I'm not sure I want to remove the Durango. I don't mind as much in the black lettering. Not even sure the dealer would notice the Dodge is gone when I turn it in, but I'm sure they'd notice the lack of the Durango badge. Last couple of cars I purchased. This is my first lease in like 10 years. I don't even remember what they do to inspect. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Apparently I was just being too gentle. Too worried about damaging the D. Got everything off this afternoon. The wife liked the idea so much we did her Rogue too. Now it's like a strip club in my garage - bare asses everywhere.

Where do I put the $1 bills?

A little video for those of us who are fans of the wide, round rump of the Gen 3 Dodge Durango...

Did you sign a lease that allows for a certain amount of damage (e.g., <$5,000)? Just say they flew off in a hurricane.

Not too many of those around these parts. Lol. I'll just straight up ask the dealer as I know some folks at the dealership.

Seriously you just yanked on them with a pliers? Like a tooth? And they just came off? How much residue was there to clean? Did you take off the "DURANGO" badge the same way?
Yep. Just needle nose pliars and yanked them off. For the emblems that were on the paint, I used fishing lines and a warm day. Cleaned the remaining glue off with an adhesive remover.

LOL. I just went outside after reading this thread at 4am and pulled them all off with my fingernail. They all came off with no problem. Was a little worried on the D and O that my fingernail was going to crack but they came off with no injury to my thumbnail. Looks great. Just a little upset that I cracked the E pulling it off as I wanted to save them but oh well, stuck them on my toolbox. Great thread.

Now I'm motivated to debadge the chrome Dodge part when I get home. I'll probably leave the other letters on since it's black on black. Got rid of my chrome lugs the other day, now the only chrome is the Dodge on the front and back. I wish the grill emblem was just R/T like on Chargers.
