If you think there is a Hellcat Durango coming I have some Bigfoot Babies I am selling for all of you who want that special gift for your families

Now this was funny. The bigger problem that wasnt addressed is that there are too many parents out there that will buy something like this for their totally irresponsible kid. All my dumb friends that were given mustangs and corvettes destroyed theirs within a year. Some put friends in the hospital, some are dead and one girl i know is paralyzed from being ejected after crashing while drag racing. I know my son gets a thrill out of speed, so I will be sure he gets a 4 cylinder equinox that can hardly get out of its own way and he'll pay for it, not me

saw this article today and laughed out load because the best humor contains a lot of truth. I would apply this to all the Hellcat vehicles, including the JGC TrackHawk and any possible Hellcat powered Durango SRT.

The Scariest Thing About The Hellcat Is The Third Owner
Doug's an awesome writer, I highly suggest you go back and read his past articles. they are hilarious. I don't think you even need to be a car enthusiast to enjoy them.

I'm gonna get some sort of project car/truck and we are going to work on it together, granted he's interested in cars, so hopefully he'll have enough respect for all the hard work he put into it. I'm thinking FJ cruiser or jeep

I was given my dad's hand me down Corsica to drive with 200,000 miles on it... My brothers got the same treatment. Heck, even of all my friends, I still think I had the nicest most reliable cars. I know it happens and parents buy their kids cars they have no business driving, but I think back in my day when learning to drive, we didn't have the power cars have now, so it wasn't nearly as big of an issue to worry about. Juts thinking back though, most of my friends either were lucky to drive their parents cars when they didn't need them, or got a hand me done like I did, or had to go buy the cheapest POS they could afford. I can really only think of maybe one or two cars kids drive that were new or even powerful... Perhaps that's just what happens when you grow up in a really small town though.

I have (4) kids, ages 10 and under with my oldest being a boy. the first car will be a used Honda Civic with a MANUAL transmission. they will learn to drive a manual just like I did and they will learn to work and save if they want a 'cool' car.

I'm down with the project car idea. not going down that path with (4) kids though.

'...once you start down the dark path, forever will it dominate your destiny, consume you it will...'

I'm not insulting anyone who didn't buy their own first car, just to be clear. I thought it was pretty depressing that I worked my butt off for my first car and one kid got a Dodge viper!?! Who wants a teen driving that? In my town, there are dozens of kids every year who have new cars and some that have $50k diesel trucks that nicer than my trucks. I'm disgusted when a 16 year old gets out of their bmw or lexus. New or not it's crazy. I get that kids aren't able to work as easily or as young as we could but I think kids have more appreciation for the things they earn. Not everyone will agree, but that's okay.

Up around where I live, if someone under 30 steps outs of a vehicle like that the instant thought is "mommy and daddy bought it."
It's kind of annoying because I do drive a 2011 Durango Citadel that I bought and pay for and I'm 21, but I work my ass off. And I love this truck!

But yes, it is unfair when you're rolling around in an "Inferno Red" minivan with a rusted out muffler and some punk has the nerve to make fun of it after stepping out of the bro dozer his daddy bought for him.

You think a 4-cyl car will stop them. Bought my oldest a Ford Fiesta which he managed to wedge on top of a 4' high boulder in the parking lot at school 2 months after we bought it, $17k worth of damage. Fast forward a year and my youngest hits a curb while "drifting" around a roundabout in the Fiesta, another $4K in damage.

They both ride 150cc Taiwanese motorcycles now.

Yup, anything can happen in any vehicle. Kids just don't need a fast as hell first vehicle. My oldest girl wants a lifted truck or lifted jeep. I'm ok with the wheelin just not drag racing and showing off how fast their car is

You should give your kids enough money to do something, but not enough money that they will do nothing.

I worked in Greenwich ct you really have no clue what over privilege kids are if you haven't been there.

Where I live now if you see a young kid in a real pricey car first thoughts are drugs!

I see 20 kids in gtrs ,Range Rover svr, lambos, bmw it's insane in upper Manhattan.

These aren't the suit wearing types either.

Lol, yeah, drug money isn't the best way to "earn" money for a nice ride either. Getting back to the article, I doubt it will be long before kids are showing up to school with hellcats. I guarantee there's already college kids out there with them. Good graduation present, right? There are some crazy cars parked at UMass Amherst and Amherst college by me.

Definitely familiar with Greenwich CT. I work out of our MA offices, but our company also has CT locations that I occasionally work at. Actually, just got back from a few days of training in southern CT.

Skip barber had a teenager defensive driving class. Might be a nice gift to them. They are geared toward safety and seeing everything on he road. I haven't looked them up in a while to see if they still offer it.

X2. Hard to text and shift lol
I see people, texting, applying makeup and shifting daily(same woman everyday on the way to work) so that won't deter them much.

The skip baber school is a good idea. Teaching your kids to respect their vehicles is a huge thing. I was lucky enough to buy a piss yellow 84 Nissan pickup from my grandfather. But you can believe it was always clean and I did all the work to maintain it.

The 3rd owner idea never really scared me because a 700hp sedan is a lot less scary then a 20yr old rusted out f350 diesel dulley that weighs 4tons and has been worked on by a 16yr old and is driving at highway speeds.
