Yesterday I did my first oil change on the Durango at 10k. Dealer did the first two as part of the sale. I had to use these to get under it.

I was surprised just how low the front end is. My 68 firebird doesn't need the extensions. Lol. My next question is, with the front of the Durango up higher then the rear are guys/girls worried about the oil that doesn't drain from the rear of the pan? If the truck was level, it would be a problem.

Didnt know they made such a thing...

I gave up on the ramps... cause I couldnt get up on them... i shimmy my way under the passenger side door when doing oil changes... not very convenient... but it is doable..

I have a set of longer lower plastic ramps that work great. I am not worried about that splash of oil left in pan

I used these ramps. Never had a problem getting on them and my fat a$$ fit under the truck just fine. Click the pic for the Amazon link.

Mine are almost the same as these

I have these too. Mine are the Max ones though. Supposedly 16k lb. capacity. They are good ramps

I actually find the Durango height to be almost perfect to NOT have to use anything to get under the engine bay. When I did my first oil change, I parked the car with one side 'on the curb'. This gave me plenty of room to crawl underneath to access the oil pan.

Thats pretty clever Szy.... but I take my truck to autoskills shop, they allow you to rent bays for DIYs. $6/hr, pretty cool if you ask me. They have actual lifts, so I just lift and walk under there.

Drive to dealer, have them put it on lift.

I'll have to take a pic of my ramp setup. I've had a pair of yellow metal ramps that have worked for every car or van I've had. until the 2011 Durango. that front end IS low and I don't even have the R/T suspension.

I went to Wal-Mart and bought (2) 18" concrete pavers for about $8 total. I put the pavers under the leading edge of the ramp (about 1/3 of the way onto the paver) and between the extra lift of going onto the pavers first and the extra angle to the ramps, the D rides right up.

I was going to buy the Rino ramps but my hesitation was storage. I don't have a garage and I wasn't keen on storing the plastic ramps outside in sunlight. I've had my metal ramps for 10+ years now and I was concerned the plastic of the Rino ramps would degrade over time with the UV exposure.

and part of me was pretty happy I solved my problem for $8. ;)

I'm coming up on 10k and considering my options. I took it to my dealer for the first oil change which was free. I know there might be some slight variants, but what should I expect to pay for full synthetic oil change?

I would say anything under $50 for full synthetic change at a dealer would be a decent deal... I was quoted $280 for 4 which is $70 each..

I do them at home for about $40 worth of materials

I just jack it up with my floor jack and put it on stands front and rear, then lay down on my creeper and do the job. Really quite simple.
