Hey guys, just installed the Borla Catback exhaust system today. From what I can tell it sounds great, I know after a few miles the tone may change slightly. Build quality is top notch. The shop that installed it recommended to not use the supplied clamps to fasten the sections together but rather weld it.

Here is a quick video of the start up (Warm Start)

sounds good. but hows the drone?
I wouldn't say there is any real drone. In the lower RPMs there is a deep tone for just a second while accelerating but it doesn't get to that point where it is annoying. Even my wife who hates drone didn't mention anything. when you are cruising around not on the gas you cant even tell you have an aftermarket exhaust on the car.

Do you want video inside the car or out? Why is it a problem to weld Vs. using the clamps?
many times the exhaust expands and contracts as it heats up and cools down so its good with the clamps because it allows it to do so and you can go back and tighten once its gone through the heat up cool down cycle...or at least that's what some companies say...I dont know if its really a bad thing to weld them.

Can you get videos of both please. The clamps allow the exhaust to move around also the more rigid the exhaust the more prone it is to cracking and weld joints

These guys have been doing exhausts since 1979 and have done mine for 25 years. They do full race builds for stock cars, I will keep you updated if I have any issues. The hangars usually provide plenty of movement.

I don't know about Borla, but if you weld a corsa, you end up voiding your warranty

He did the same when they welded it. Clamps work just fine , hell cats use clamps viper , vette, and exotics . I don't under stand why weld it. It's not gonna work any diff welded vs clamppe

Hi guys,
I got the Borla on my 2014 RT and the shop used the clamps. After mounting I drove for 100 miles in hot weather and the exhaust pipes moved a little bit (turned sideways, so I nearly burned the plastic bumper). I had than a different shop reinstall the exhaust and this time we used some teflon grease between the individual pipes. Now everything workes excellent, no problems with the clamps so far.
For the sound: on WOT every Ferrari or Lamborgini gets jealous. If you are in ECO and the MDS cuts in, you will get some anoying drone, so I normally switch Eco off. On normal speed not excellerating you hear no difference to the original.
The car has much more power and responds faster. Sometimes on high speed while full excellerating I get a little bit like backfire during shifting, but my car runs on Liquified presured gas,so that might be the reason (much cheaper than gasoline wtih about 112 octan, many people here convert their US cars).
With the original exhaust I would get to 215 km/h (approx 135 mph) and it just kind of creeps up the last mph, with the Borla the D excelerates rapidly to 215 and you feel it running into the limiter at that speed with lots of power left to go faster. I now have to find out, how to disable the speed limiter (I live in Germany and got a couple of unllmted highways around)

I believe if you get the car flashed with a hand held tuner it remove the speed limiter. Not I'm not sure how many mopar tuners in Germany . I suppose you can do one of those email tunes. Can you post some vids of your exhaust still on the fence myself.

Hi,

Hope you guys like this video for my Borla exhaust on 2014 D Hemi V8. I also got an Mopar CAI. I got this thing fitted directly from the dealer, as didn't wanna risk car impound for illegal mods...lol.

I do find a little bit of droning on the Eco mode and slower speeds, as the D runs on the highest gear. But overall its amazing mod for your car and Borla is very aggressive. It sounds exactly like stock when you are cruising. Enjoy the video..
