Hi,
Need help, my car does not make a horn sound when remote starting the car, it is enabled from the settings menu, anyone had the same issue?

Hm, I just turned mine off and that worked OK.. Do you still have the honk on lock? I wonder if there is another setting that overrides the remote lock/start honk, some kind of a "don't honk, dammit!" setting..

It is on, I have tried to disable/enable it, still the damn thing won't work, the dealer was a bit stupid he said you do not have this option

Hi Mohamed, I guest we have the same issue. And ironically we are in the same region particularly in Abu Dhabi, I also like this option to enable, tried enabling/disabling from the settings however I as well cannot figure out how.

Welcome isotopes, I had an appointment today with the dealer regarding another issue with the braking and also noted this issue, they will reply to me by the end of the day, I will post here if anything came up.
one question though, where did you made your plastidip?

Since both of yours are Different Spec Models the dealer may be correct and that may not be allowed on your models software. Sometimes there are sill regional laws that prevent certain features and the manufacturer has to conform to what that region allows in order to sell product there.
Some areas have different lighting requirements as well, which involves different color lenses etc
Good Luck to both of you

Actually that is is true, but yesterday I got feedback from the dealer they said that this option is not available in your car though it is available in the settings.
We do not have the "Apps" button because it is not supported in our region, if what they are saying is true then they should remove that option as well.

GCC specs differs most of the time from US/EU specs in major issues (Bigger cooling radiator, withstand humidity and dust, ..etc.) but not minor specs.

Unfortunately they arent going to change all the radio software for your models, They simply just put Blocks on certain features within the same software. You may be able to find a source to Jailbreak the software although I am sure they will void your warranty if that matters

how you figure it will void the warranty? possibly if the software caused an issue I could see there being a problem but if US law was applicable then the dealer would have to show the hacked software caused the problem. I doubt they can blame someone enabling a horn beep to a transmission issue for example. If the horn stuck on and burned out than that would be a different issue and sure they could deny a horn repair.

all bets are off though as it's a different country so i have no idea of what the laws are there. I'd probably be more concerned about getting a ticket - if it's illegal to sell that feature in a new vehicle is it illegal to use it?

for the OP- if you are really into 'fixing this' then reach out to customtronix and see if they have a "fix".

They've hacked the software and have found ways to enable features not originally assigned/allowed on specific vehicles. Things like enabling typing on the screen when in motion and turning on the existing inputs for front, rear, and cargo cameras when not originally on the vehicle. If it's just something disabled on your particular vin due to the place you purchased the vehicle they may be able to help.

basically you donwload the software onto a USB drive and plug it into the D's USB port and it installs. To return to factory software you use another download on the usb drive. Pretty harmless.

It will cost you though- ask for a discount but the software only "bronz package" seems to run about 110 Euros discounted. That allows all their software options.

PS- the software actually comes basically ready for any brand or model car/truck/whatever (all the FCA brands, even freightliner are in there ready to go if you dig in the image) that it is used in and then it queries the car somehow for what options/features/etc for that particular car to enable or disable. Probably on first boot it checks the vin or something and sees to disable that feature. So the software is already customized for that region- it's just yet another bit of sloppy programming that they don't remove or gray out the checkbox in the settings screen when they disable it. I'd call it a bug.

It's like if you Jailbreak your phone and screw it up Apple will tell you that you are SOL.

I don't think the statement was intended to mean voiding the warranty on the entire car.

If the radio has problems later on a manufacturer could claim that it was caused by running unauthorized/unsupported software and deny the warranty claim.

THAT IS WHAT I MEANT^^^ And since these Radios are giving a few of you a ton of Grief I can see some denied Claims for radio Nav Units
Happening

Thank You

oh totally agreed- if you are going to fiddle with the radio software than be prepared for the possibility of needing to spend a grand or so on a new one. The likelihood is tiny but not impossible that you could foul it up.

were you toggling this option on/off with the engine off and just the accessory power on? I noticed some of my options wouldn't work unless I was changing my settings with the engine running. it's weird, I know
