Hello all!

Looking forward to getting my new Durango...Money's down but, waiting on some critical "do not drive or you'll die" recall. So, hopefully Friday or Saturday! If not, Getting my money back and will have to upgrade models.

Anyway, waiting on the Limited Redline red with blackout package. Also went with the captains chairs in the second row but, opted out of the center console...So I guess that's my first question....Was that a mistake? Do I even care about my back passengers enough to let them move in and store stuff? Or is it better to pass to the third row without it. Thanks!

Yeah, bummer about the recall.. it allegedly affected any Durangos built between June 12-20.. its serious, and thankfully Dodge not only caught it, but notified anyone who may have been driving one.

It'll be worth the wait..

I cant talk about the 2nd row captains chairs.. I have the bench.. but I think if youre going for the captains, personally, I wouldnt do the console. I can tell you that having a bench, and a kid-seat, getting into the 3rd row isnt easy.. that pass through will be worth it if you plan on having people back there.

Glad they caught that before it became a dangerous situation.

Welcome.

I also opted for the captain's chairs with the standard floor console. The kiddos' car seats sit in the second row so I needed the pass through ability that the upgraded console would have eliminated.

I'd do the same if I did captain's.. I would DELETE the console..

not to stray off topic.. but what was this big recall?

Pat Were from in Northern IL.
I just got mine 2 weeks ago. Got the bench did it for the extra seat. All the recalled ones should be accounted for. Mine didn't have the problem and it was built on the 20th. At least that's what the vin checker for recalls tells me. Rear lower control arms not heat treated properly from there manufacturer.

I'm in McHenry. The Durango I'm getting is not from my dealership. They are getting it from (I believe) Wisconsin ... (I Know; a cheese head SUV is the worst). Anyway, They said they are trying to get it to me as fast as possible. And the parts are on "national back order". We'll see. From what I've read, I'm pretty sure I don't want the console. So it's about patience now. GRRRRRRR...RED And BLACK OUT I want it!!!

I got my 11 Crew from Castle Buick in North Riverside, IL... familiar with it?

Your right a cheesehead Durango is bad, especially since you have to cross into Wisconsin, you might not make it back alive... I lived in Long Grove and for years I worked for Meijer Corporate IT and supported the McHenry store, I'm familiar with that area. Way too many Packers fans for my taste.


Anyway, all is forgiven since you got a Redline Red Durango. I mean I would go to to Green Bay for one of those... Totally worth anything you have to do to get one.

They don't just give the Redline Red Durangos to anyone. With a great vehicle come great responsibility...

Congrats ! Sweet ride. Big fan of the red after seeing it in person, but couldn't sell the wife on it unfortunately for her D
