I am thinking about buying a 2014 Durango Citadel out-of-state (great price!), but am concerned about all the recalls in 2014. the one that disturbs me the most is the problem with some 2014's just stopping while driving! Although this particular car i am considering had no recalls, what does it say about the company itself? I really LOVE this car and want some good feedback :)

Not sure which recall that was, maybe the alternator one (P60)? That only applied to certain configurations (160-amp alternator) so it may not apply to this vehicle. This was a supplier quality issue, and Chrysler/FCA certainly isn't the only company that's been battling such problems..

Most of us are pretty happy with our vehicles, which says a lot about the company :)

Thanks for reply...yes, I see that most owners are happy! My sister has a V8 Citadel and absolutely says it is the best car she has ever owned! I guess my apprehension is that we have not seen the car in person and that my husband will fly to SC to pick up car and drive all the way back to NY. Just want it to go smoothly :]

It sounds your concerns are more about that specific vehicle itself rather than the company/model as a whole. If your sister is happy, that's probably the best review you could have :)

Once you have it in hand, we'll help you keep up-to-date.. we generally keep on top of TSBs and Recalls..

You're in good hands here ;)

only "unsolved" things I know about-

Apparently the visor fir "fix" seems maybe not to have worked:
US reopens investigation into Jeep, Dodge sun visors - US News

the nav database is ~3 years old with no new version in site.

And there's a bug in a stereo amp that they apparently are working on a firmware fix for.

The latter two are annoying for sure if you are into those things, but only really seems the visor is a "real" issue.

For anyone who is interested: I bought a 14 SXT (lower end but still loaded compared to what I'm used to!) with 13.000 miles on it two months ago. I was looking at recalls and saw that the alternator recall included the one I bought but had not been done on it. I called the dealer and the service rep verified it with my VIN and we made and appt to get it done at no charge. I was ready for any kind of fight necessary but nothing out of the ordinary happened, save that it went just fine! The only thing I wondered about was when I asked exactly what did they do, he only told me they replaced the alternator with the "recommended replacement". I found the part number on the new one and it is still a 160 amp as far as I can tell. It does say Mopar on it and doesn't look rebuilt, so I'm OK with it as long as it works. Wasn't having a problem anyway. I'm impressed with this engine/transmission setup. At first I was unsure about getting the V6 in a heavy (4800 pound) vehicle until I drove it around.

So far so good!
