It wasn't the money, it was the sound that pissed her off. I generally spend money without clearing it with her. She's used to that, the last time she got pissed at me spending money without talking to her was when I bought a new Lincoln LS with the V8 without her even knowing I was looking at cars. We found out we were having our first baby and my extended cab pickup just wasn't big enough so I went out and bought a $50,000 car 4 days after finding out we were pregnant. I said, it's a 4 door.

I upgraded the exhaust on my Durango last week without really telling her about it, only for her to get pissed and make me put the stock exhaust back on. Apparently it was "too loud, and it woke the baby and Blah blah blah".

Then I went to work today and went out to lunch with the guys only to have them send me Amazon listings for eye lashes and bras for my Durango with the message, "This should help further Clifford's "Journey"" (referencing Bruce Jenner's "Journey"). Then renaming my Durango Roxxy.

Unless you want your Durango to undergo a "sex change" and be identified with a Kardashian family member you WILL CLEAR ALL UPGRADES WITH YOUR WIFE FIRST...
sooooooo.....are you selling your exhaust?

I discuss all mods to the family vehicle with my wife. She usually supports it but says something along the lines of, "I'd be happy without it, even though I know it'll be awesome."

My wife asked only that I hold off on any mods while it was her driver. Now that its' mine again 100%, I can do what I want as long as it doesn't take any budget away from the family needs. She doesn't know that I will be doing some aesthetic mods to her van eventually too...

Flames on the sides?

Paul,
You should have told her the stock exhaust has just broken in. You could change it for a quieter one, but those are thousands of $ and decrease fuel economy. That's my plan of I decide to do the Corsa.

I am really lucky. My wife has actually liked all of the improvements/mods I have done to the D and I never asked for permission to do any of them. The only one she ever questioned was the Hanson front bumper, and when she saw one on a Dak she really liked it and suggested we get it.

Sounds like your half way through your journey, your testicles are already in your wife's purse.

I know how you feel, I straighted piped my 03 Cummins and boy did I get it! On the flip side, my neighbor said she no longer needed an alarm clock to get up! She now asks if it's a needed upgrade, or just something to make it "cooler". Lol

I asked if "we" could get the Corsa, her response was "it's brand new, why would you get a new louder exhaust?" I'm not really sure dear. :wall::wall:

Give her the whole 10% fuel economy. So figure you spend $600 per month in gas, that's a $60 per month savings, less than a 2 year ROI. Any good business man would invest. I also tried this one with my wife and she said she would gladly pay the extra money to sleep in the morning

I get the same thing. Then I have to sit there and think to my self "Shit how can i explain some BS reason to my reasonably smart fiancee" then reply saying "We don't need the new part but i want it" or say something like "I promise this will be the last large purchase" or even "Ill take my lunch to work for the next 2 months no more eating out i swear" while keeping the fingers crossed behind my back.

Seriously?

Seriously?
The last 5 months have been very expensive.

5 new guns (one I built which wasn't cheap), a new PC I built myself, a new laptop, New tires on the Caliber, 16' utility trailer, 24 gun gun safe, paid off the caliber (5k), paid off our house (another 5k), a new car (the D), a few trips here and there, and a assortment of other odds and ends.

I am not allowed to whipe my ass with good TP at the moment. However im spending another $400 soon i just wont tell her until this weekend since ill be out of town working at another store for some OT.
