The headrests, when in the up position, really block the rear window. When they are in the down position they bend forward and it would seem that it would be hard to put a car seat in either side of the 3rd row. Is there an easy way to remove them and put them back on at a later time?

They cant be removed
I use them to slap my whining kids in the head! Your in 3rd row and whining "ARE WE THERE YET"
Hit the button SLAP RIGHT IN THE NOGGIN
SORRY CANT BE OF MORE HELP

Oh God I'm so glad I'm not the only person that has considered doing this on trips! LOL
I have done it to them at least a dozen times and it hits pretty hard.
Try it and thank me later for the tip!

I'd like to do the same thing for a different reason. When third seats are folded down the headrest take up some valuable space in the floor area.
When on trips etc it would free up some usable space. My third row seats will be down 99 % of the time.
Guess it can't be done. But they were put in there seems strange there is no way to take them out.

Best feature ever! One of the first things I did to the little Cretans when we got the D. Hey boys, climb in the way back and see what you think. Oh yeah! This is awesome. Hit button, thunk. Dad!!!

I only have two. I just send them to the third row for my own entertainment purposes and they fall for it. Knuckleheads!!! :p

How did I not join this discussion earlier!?! I've told my kids for years that I was going to invent a reach-n-smack-em just so I could turn around a THWACK, when they're being annoying. When I saw the folding headrest button, I knew this ride was for me. First time my kids were annoying, THWACK! They looked shocked for a moment, but then asked if I custom ordered that feature. Too funny to hear that other have done the same!

I don't feel bad anymore. I receive a great deal of joy popping my kids with that. Now I never hear, "are we there yet", nor do they even really whine. Therefore I just do it at random (accidentally).

Sorry you didn't get a decent answer from anyone. More interested in having their own brand of fun.

Least they could have said WHY they can't be removed if anyone knows. Or just "use a hacksaw" at least would have been better answer than most.

Very poor job of answering the guys question. Thanks everyone !
