Birthday time means I get to ask Mama to buy me mods for my Durango......

I installed my MOPAR CAI last weekend.
Have 180* Stat from Hemifever sitting on the workbench.
B.T. catch can arrived yesterday.
D is at the muffler shop today having the suitcase removed and replaced with glasspaks and X-pipe.
Ordered the Trinity from Hemifever today and already got shipping confirmation.

YAY ME!!;)

After Summer, my OEM tires should be worn out and I'll get a set of SRT-8 Goliath replicas in 20x9 with some wider rubber.

Good to see you're not a believer in "everything in moderation" like the rest of us nut jobs . the "hobby" only gets worse from here, and then when you see Steve's durango in person, it becomes an addiction.

I do have a pretty good gig. My wife has earned all of the money for the last 10 years. I've raised the boys and kept her well cared for. She has a successful business as a forensic accountant(fraud investigator).

Buying her gifts with her money is weird.......fr her 40th birthday, I bought her a 355hp Audi S5..........and subsequently inherited the Durango, which was my choice when we bought it 2 years ago.

Glasspaks?
They still make those? Hmmm, what made you decide on those vs say...a take off R/T muffler?
If I remember those had quite a bit of raspy sound to them which to me would seem a bit out of place on a Citadel.

It was going to be a magnaflow with internal X design, but after getting a good look at the stock muffler and how it wraps around the driveshaft......the only option was to put in two slim mufflers.....they function as a resonator to tone down the harshness(much like on other full length aftermarket exhaust systems. They will flow better than a stock R/T muffler. I also kept the stock rear. it's very mellow and you can hardly hear it inside the cabin. I'll see if I can't upload a video clip. I'd say it's likely less raspy than a stock R/T.

If anything, it's a little too quiet. I wanted to go in incremental steps so as not to have just a big, loud obnoxious car that pisses off the family on trips. If I decide to do more, I will replace the rear units with a pair of small Magnaflows and larger tips.

Yes, please post sound if possible.
I thought the 2 rear pods were resonators..at least that would seem to be what they are.
So basically you took out the muffler.
Yes.....the two words are almost interchangeable when talking about cars, honestly. A muffler by definition is meant to quiet and a resonator manipulates tone. Resonators are typically used to tame down harshness or to give an exhaust a specific sound quality.

Basically, I told the guy what type of sound I wanted.......and after looking at it and determining a standard Magnaflow wouldn't fit, he said he had another way of doing the same thing. And delivered exactly what I asked for. BTW, his daily driver is a Ram HEMI with a Magnaflow......I told him that's the sound I wanted, but reasonable(not LOUD) volume and no drone.

Wish I hadn't seen this post. I've spent about $20K in mods on my Wrangler and my newly ordered Durango is supposed to be my daily driver and sometimes tow rig (for my Jeep). Now I have to go do some research on what mods I can do on the Durango. Wife will kill me! Can I fit 35's on a 2015 Citadel?! I can move up to 40's on my Jeep and not have to worry about selling my 35's!! LOL!

This should get you started on available mods and accessories for your Durango. :)

Steve, you are very unassuming but have always had the nicest looking D's in the group. Keep up the good work.
As for glasspaks, they tend to rust out, go woth a good Flowmaster or Magnaflow instead. You will be much happier in the end.
