This is my first time being apart of a forum and I see that a lot of you guys are very handy and are capable of doing a lot of things when it come to your car. I barely was capable of putting on the mopar pedals and a Rallye name plate on my 14 Durango

Thank heavens for the Internet! I was at a dealership a couple of days ago looking closely at the taillight badges and wondering (hoping) if they could be removed. The racetrack taillight is a brilliant design but the chrome lettering really kills the vibe, particularly on the R/T. Glad to see they aren't molded in. I actually like the look of the indentations, just ditch the bling!

After getting the center assembly replaced yesterday due to it being cracked when I bought it, I was finally able to remove the lettering on my taillights today.

I went with fishing line for removal. Popped off pretty easily one I got the hang of it!

I'll be taking the Dodge logo off the back end along with the Durango logo. Might keep the black Limited badge for now.

Wanted to take the Dodge logo off the grille, but the molded area is left behind and I don't know what I would put in place of it??

Thanks! I started with a hair dryer but ultimately it was easier without it. My technique involved getting the fishing line under one side and pulling out to pop them off. Then I stuck them on my old tool box. ;-)

Definitely looks better without Chrome letters.

I'm trying this ASAP. I'm very nervous, lol. There's no way to crack the light or anything, is there? I know they're about $700 to replace! Going to try hairdryer + floss. What did you use to clean the gunk off?
There's no way to damage the light unless your extremely careless. I just took mine off with a pair of needle nose pliers then some goo gone to take off some excess glue, of which there wasn't much.

I pulled mine off using a pair of long needle nose pliers; took literally 8 seconds to pull off the letters. No goo, scratches or cracks in
doing so. It looks so much better.

Looks nicer for sure

Did the same exact thing. Took all of 3 minutes to do. Looks way better than my sorry attempt at plasti dip. Here's a crappy pic, but you get the idea

Seriously you just yanked on them with a pliers? Like a tooth? And they just came off? How much residue was there to clean? Did you take off the "DURANGO" badge the same way?

Holy cow.. I just debadged the light in literally, not kidding, under 30 seconds. Needle nose plier.. they pulled off with minimal effort. A few of them (like the "E") broke pulling them off, but I'm shocked at how easy that was.

Ok.. now.. what's the best way to get rid of the "DURANGO" lettering?
