Hi All,

I just stumbled across this site after purchasing a '14 R/T last weekend (in Steel Metallic). I went all out and got every option available, after shopping for the last 12 months. I've barely driven it, but already very happy and excited with the purchase.

I'll be using it to haul the family around (currently my Wife, 14 month old and 55lb dog) and during the spring/summer months, will be towing my boat up to Tahoe.

Love the site so far. It's super helpful to find info from other Durango owners with experience specific to this vehicle. Any general advice or good tips is welcomed! Also, I read recently that Fiat is considering killing off Dodge slowly and that the Durango would cease production in 2016 (to be replaced with a Jeep version - possibly a "wagoneer"). Does anyone know if that is 100% true, or still TBD? It made me hesitate on the purchase a bit, but ultimately I found nothing else out there that fit all my needs as perfectly as the Durango.

Best,
Bryan

Welcome B Dog
The Durango will be around for a little while yet we heard at plant at least until 2017. There is a ton of hoopla floating around this topic and tons of experts (not really.)
Now post some pics of that D

Welcome and congratulations on the Durango. I'm surprised that a Durango was allowed in San Francisco. I thought they stationed the National Guard at the golden gate bridge to hang all SUV owners. [emoji2]

Ha - I don't live in the actual city limits, so there's that. :) Lots of SUVs around though, trust me.

Finally got a chance to take a few pics. Enjoy!

Those are indeed MOPAR nerf bars. I like the look of them a lot and I think they will come in handy when my kid is old enough to get in the car on her own. My only critique is that they make it a tad awkward to get in/out of the car (not sure whether to use them or not since I'm 6'1" and don't need them. Because they stick out a bit, you kind of have to swing wide / step over them if you don't use them. I'm trying to train myself to just step on and use them as it's more comfortable to do so.

DGDG is a pretty big dealership group in the San Francisco Bay Area. I had never heard of them 5 or so years ago, and now they are seemingly everywhere.

dgdg.com is Del Grande Dealer Group. it's a local bay area dealer that has recently shown up they sell you almost all the different car maker brands.

Nice D!! I spent a little time in SF this year with work (actually was there for the Napa Valley quake, it was really fun). I really envy the weather and the views.
