Clay replied to my email this morning (even though he is off this weekend) and quoted $2115 for the Mopar Lifetime Warranty. I'll be speaking to Clay about the purchasing the warranty when its time unless the dealer wants to match the price.
why not just buy from Clay? He did you a solid and gave you a egreat price right out of the gate- so why not help him earn a living to feed his family?

Its about the money as it always is with cars. If we don't get a better price when we purchase the vehicle then i will definitely go to Clay. He gave me a great price, you are right, but i have to feed my family too.

sure money is money- but my point was dont let the dealer off with "matching" the price or giving you $5 better. make the dealer earn it or give Clay the business- just my humble opinion.

I just hate when the dealers try to rip people off then you confront them with a fair price from a decent guy (like Clay sounds like) they all of a sudden want to match it. If they weren't going to give me a fair price in the first place I'd rather go with the decent guy.

(for the record i dont know the guy, never bought anything from him, and have no skin in the game)

good luck

Of course. If its a matter of the dealer just matching the price im not going to take it but i am going to give them a chance to beat it. If they cant beat it, clay will earn my business and i wont even ask him if he can do any better

I received the quote from the same Clay mentioned on this thread. The price quote was contingent on signing before the end of September.

Ah, I'm not sure if the quote is the same price for October but I will have to talk to Clay about it when he gets back to work. The dealer wanted way too much for the lifetime warranty so we didn't go with them.

Just out of curiosity, for those of you that went with the lifetime plan did you pay it all up front or go with a payment plan?

What happens after you purchase the plan? Do you get paperwork mailed to you and/or are you able to see your plan online?

Thanks

Another satisfied Clay customer here. Picking up my 2014 R/T Saturday and Clay was thorough, responsive, and a pleasure to deal with. It also didn't hurt that he had the best pricing I could find. I would highly recommend him.

I just wanted to warn folks this warranty is not a "bumper to bumper" type warranty, my salesman told me that it was, but I had my doubts and read the actual contract.
It only covers the specific components listed in the warranty, and while there are a lot parts listed there are many that are not listed and thus not covered.
As far as I can tell these components or problems would not be covered:
Adaptive cruise control.
Blind spot monitor.
Navigation system.
Door latches.
A water leak.
Please post if you see that any of these are covered, I couldn't find them.

Mitochon,

I'd be interested in whether the above is indeed covered or not. I have not purchased yet. Of more importance to me: Some have claimed that if the necessary repair is higher than the value of the vehicle, then they won't cover it. Did you see that in the contract anywhere?

thanks.

See post 98 of this thread. It's not a claim. It's on the first page of the contract.

To add to this, exhaust is not covered (I don't remember what parts exactly is specifies, I would imagine manifolds are covered just not anything after that). Not that this applies to us, but clutch parts aren't covered (which is probably obvious as to why).

The nav system is listed on mine under the electrical section "Factory installed Navigation Systems" (excludes navigation disc).
Door latches are listed under the "luxury group".
Intake and exhaust manifolds are covered, but not the exhaust.
Water leak would depend on what caused the leak.

Blind spot and adaptive cruise are not covered.

I'm sure those are covered as well. Right before it lists what's covered it says "Components covered by the plan include(BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO):

In the Luxury group it mentions Cruise control servo and Park assist sensors. If the front sensor went bad for the cruise, I'm sure it's covered.

Even if not explicitly covered, there is a certain interest for Chrysler to take care of a customer. Someone who expects to get a lifetime of use out of their vehicle is a salesperson far more impactful than the guy sitting on the curb waiting for an up.

Plus, when that vehicle does need replacing, or a garage pal, Chrysler wants that next or second car to be one from their catalog.

We just got the lifetime MAX CARE on our new Charger R/T. Given this is my wifes car I feel it will pay for itself as she normally keeps a car for 8-10 years minimum
