Decided to take my own advice and get my exhaust done how I wanted it. Installed an x pipe with 2 14" Magnaflow mufflers with 4" tips.

Here's a few pics and videos, hopefully I'll get a launch video in the next few days. (hunting season starts tomorrow :) )

:p

Nice! Hows the drone? I saw you only got up to 53 mph. How loud at 65-75 mph?

No WOT? Sounds like every other exhaust at idle and in the cab. We need to hear it man!

How much was the cost on just the mufflers and tips? I'm thinking of just replacing those.

Ok, got a rev video and a WOT from a roll video then cruising around 70. Hope that helps, they are added to the first post. Good and aggressive and the drone is minimal. Throttle is much smoother and added torque is a plus.

Might have a video of a take off from the outside in the next day or so. Just hard finding time. lol

I'm here to tell you, if you are thinking about it do it. I know I have gained torque, the durango has a much better hole shot and just really smooth through the shifts now. Very glad I went this route. If you want something completly silent then this isn't for you. You want something with minimal drone and a nice gain in the torque department, this is the ticket.

The x pipe silences idle but let's it flow when you get on it.

Hi I love the sound of your truck, going to check for the parts here in Canada that will help to my air intake have on it.

I may go this route. Thanks for sharing.

STRICNINE.

I went the route of having the resonators cut out and changing the tips to the double walled slash cut like yours. Originally i liked the louder sound I got from the resonator delete but it's starting to wear on me with the increased drone and loudness under acceleration so I'm looking for something that will give me what I would consider in between stock and what I have now.

I have a appointment to get a pair of glasspacks but in Tuesday but if your method will give me better results I would consider that.
I can't get your videos to play on my PC through Windows Media Player, something about Codec files or something.

I know another member did the glasspack install and was wondering if you heard that before you did your X-pipe route and what your thoughts are on which is louder. I don't want to go the full cost of a complete Corsa or = system so your method has me intrigued.

What say you?

Got a link to the other thread you are mentioning? I have not heard it. I used the x pipe as a means of getting a quiet idle, complimenting the higher revs in the Hemi and promote scavenging in the exhaust. I was looking for that tasteful exhaust note with performance in mind. I wouldn't give you a recommendation without hearing something first and keep in mind, mufflers are like music. Different strokes for different folks.

Drone in this set up is minimal, hard acceleration is loud. MDS isn't bad at all, I really don't use MDS hhat much either. I stay in 6 as I want all cylinders all the time and have not seen an advantage to MDS over stock overdrive.

I'm with you, I see zero point in paying $1200+ for an exhaust when I can get the same performance or better for a whole lot less. Maybe for a show ride, but not for my daily driver.

wtf? I had magnaflow on my lifted '12 ram sport with a hemi and it sounded badass. My '14 r/t stock exhaust sounds mean compared to your mags. This blows my mind.
Thanks for your constructive criticism. Trust me, these are much meaner than your stock R/T exhaust. lol

These are iphone videos. What is hard to hear is how deep the rumble is. I had the same 14" Magnaflow on my 2011 RAM as well and they sound identical. Only difference between the two is the RAM utilizes a Y pipe si/do. If you lived closer I would invite you to hear for yourself. I would even be willing to line them up and find out what kind of gains it made. That may be what blows your mind. :)

I'm in NE FL and if anyone wants to hear it in person I am more than willing to meet at any place that sells wings and beer. Hahahahahaha

To stay constructive, you can also go with an h pipe to achieve that old school muscle car sound if that's what you are after. An x pipe will generally be 8 decibels quieter than an h pipe set up. Both set ups will do well at balancing each bank of the engine however, in my opinion, the x pipe is more efficient at letting the exhaust gas scavenge as the gas will take the path of least resistance. Better scavenging and flow allows the exhaust to pull those gases out of the engine easier, keeping it cooler and producing more power.

Here's the other members video of the glasspack install.

I'm still in the fence of going the x-pipe and Magnaflow route or just adding the glasspacks where the resonators were.

Did you notice a dramatic performance(vs slight) gain with the x-pipe?

Which Magnaflow part # did you use?
