Found out we are having our 4th child and while 3 car seats fit across the back seat of the Jeep, 4 kids won't.

I am looking at ordering a 2015 R/T with every option but chrome and engine block heater. Captains chairs for baby seats and boosters in third row will work out perfect.

Any advice on ordering a custom Durango?

Really sorry I'm leaving Jeep fold as I run my JK doorless and roofless for 3-4 months out of the year and it's wonderful. I will miss this but simply can't fit my future family in the Jeep.

I do have a 2013 Honda CBR500R to give me my open air driving experience down the road anyway.

I'm in the same boat here. I'm looking at trading my 2012 JKUR for an R/t, but am waiting for some 2015 info to come out. I love my Jeep, but it's just not very practical with my 5 kids. I test drove a 2014 sxt and was really impressed with it. I really wanted a Grand Cherokee with the diesel, but it only seats 5 and is $pendy. Surprisingly I have yet to even see an R/T in person. The dealers around my area seem to only have the v6 models so I may have to take a road trip to test drive a Hemi.

You won't be disappointed in the Hemi. My wife and I weren't even considering a Durango and stopped by the Dodge dealer because it was next to the Ford dealer we were at. The salesman took us out in an R/T hemi and then a limited V6. I think he did that on purpose, but not even sure why bothered letting us drive the V6 :)

We currently have an order in for a Durango since we can't find the exact one we want.

I came from a JK as well and love the additional power, comfort, and all of the bells and whistles of the D! You will miss it but definitely not be disappointed! I drove the JK from San Francisco to Nags Head, NC straight through in 48 hours and my neck and back hated me for it. While I loved my JK, it's just not suited for long trips and was under-powered along with worse gas mileage.

I'm guessing you didn't have any backseat passengers. They would have either committed suicide or reached around and strangled you. The rear seats are the most god awful seats ever made. We drove our 2 JKUR's from Michigan to Florida and back 30 hours straight not realizing how awful the backseats are. Luckily my kids were too young to call child protective services because that was definitely child's abuse. When we test drove the Durango I think I shed a tear when I saw the 2nd row seats reclined. Jeep should add that to the JKU.

i made the jump, miss my 12 JKUR same reason started a family couldn't fit them all. the R/T is amazing. i have it almost a week now and love it.

Haha! No I was solo and had the back seats laid down and the whole rear full of my stuff (I was moving). Although I have never ridden in the back seat of a JK, if it's anything like the fronts (or worse) I can't imagine being a passenger for that long!

4 kids?! I would forget the R/T and go for a minivan. With the whole family in the R/T, you won't have much room for anything else. I have kid #2 on the way and the reason I am considering the R/T is because of the captain chairs (which allow easy access to 3ed row with 2 child seats in the middle row) and in a pinch ill be able to fit visiting guests.

I bought my D because we have 4 kids and I refuse to drive a mini van. My wife has one and I was miserable every time we took a trip in it. I hated it so much that we took my Ram trucks on some of the shorter trips but I hated having a kid ride in the front middle four or so hours. The long trips we've taken in her mini van, we had to use our roof top carrier and a long trip in the D we'll have to also. We've gone away for 5 days and everything we needed barely fit in our D so we know anything longer and its going on the roof. Roof top carriers are kinda ugly but at least we'll be comfortable.
