Just hung up the phone with UConnect & the update is not for the 8.4AN according to them. Just FYI. I was trying to download it for our 2014 Citadel & I called them after getting the "invalid VIN".
Just use the VIN from the 3rd post in this thread. I was getting the invalid VIN message when I entered the one from my D. I used the VIN referenced and it worked with no issue.

In the last 3 days I've spoken to 3 different people about the update/VIN. 2 were very helpful and knew that this update was for my system, the 1 seemed out to lunch & was the one who informed me it was only a software update for the other systems. Supposedly my vin should work on the update website by friday afternoon

What a PITA this was. Between that stupid download installer I spent 1/2 hour getting to work properly and having to go through Dodge's pre-owned inventory online to get a VIN that worked (my 2 month old Citadel didn't) I finally got it to work. It does in fact fix the wacked out rear view camera thank god. I think that was my only real issue with this car and now its fixed.

Just installed the update..camera definitely seems better.

For anyone that was having issues with "installer" on the computer not actually downloading the software update, here are some instructions I received from the customer assistance center (I went through the steps, downloaded and installed their download manager but couldn't actually get the Uconnect software to download in Internet explorer even with pop up blockers and firewalls disabled) I will add I was very happy with their response and follow up.

1. Make sure you still have the installer (the download software mentioned above) on your computer
2. Open a fresh Google chrome webpage
3. Go to Chrysler Uconnect
4. Hover over Help & Support
5. Click on your vehicle brand
6. Click on system updates.
7. You should be on the page where is asks you for your VIN # but BEFORE you type anything click on the shield in the address bar towards the right hand side next to the favorites star.
8. Choose to load unsafe script
9. Go through the steps and attempt the download again
10. You should then be taken to a page that says “Begin Tutorial” ....choose to skip this.
11. You should then get the pop up asking to save the exe file. Save the file to the desktop.
12. When this completes you will then be asked to extract the file.
13. Extract the file directly to your USB flash drive. The file that ends up on your USB will be named SWDL. You will then be ready to update your vehicle.

1. Start the vehicle
2. Wait for the system to load
3. Plug in the USB
4. A message will pop up on the screen asking for confirmation to update the firmware
5. Let the process finish it will loop around and ask again
6. Select No
7. System will reboot
8. Take out the USB
9. Perform 2 engine cycles (turn the vehicle off and open the driver’s door until all electrical is off, shut the door) Your update should now be complete.
These instructions were great. Had to find another VIN as the first one I used I got the need VP4 error. In just going back and looking at the update in the third post I used the wrong VIN. I ended up just swapping the last three digits until I hit one that worked. Ended up with a Jeep Grand Cherokee VIN. At any rate all is well, thanks for the very helpful instructions!

what is this settings issue a lot of you speak of?
When you first start the vehicle and put on some music( I don't think it matters if it's USB, SD, Sirius etc..) you may notice it's either lacking or has too much of a certain frequency or frequencies and when you go into the EQ menu and say just change the bass up or down one hash mark, the whole spectrum of frequencies seems to change. It stays good until the vehicle is shut off.

On another note, maybe we can start a sticky if there isn't one already where we can post bugs and wish list for the whole system? There are some really annoying bugs that would seem like they can be an easy fix.

Yup exactly. Its annoying as hell, I tried showing it to my service adviser .... couldn't get it through to him. I called unconnect support and they haven't "heard of it" .. but frankly, if that is the only thing wrong with it compare to what others have gone through. I will take that trade off :) at least the rear view camera is fixed.

These how-to-update instructions should be stickied to the 2014 forum.

But steps 11, 12, 13... You'll be downloading an exe file from the website and run that to get the SWDL rar. After that all you have to do is move the rar to the USB, no extracting. Plug it in the Durango's USB slot below the UConnect screen. Turn it on to the Accessory position and you'll be asked to update. Press OK and then it runs on it's own. You don't have to extract the files from the SWDL rar and you don't have to actually start your Durango. And when I tried to plug in the flash drive after turning on the Durango, it wouldn't run the update; I had to plug it in first then turn the vehicle on to get the prompt.

I just keep getting the invalid VIN error that many others have gotten. I also keep seeing mention of "Make sure you still have the installer (the download software mentioned above) on your computer ". Where do you get this installer or is that part only available after your VIN is "validated"?

Mine has the annoying equalizer problem too. It's done it since we bought it in November '13 and 14.25.05 did not fix it. We've learned to live with it. Boosted20v is right, compared to the '11-'13 Alpine system, this one is a dream.

Now it's doing something new. Since performing the 14.25.05 update, the balance/fade is set to rear-left every time we start the vehicle. I have to go into settings and touch the "C" in the middle to center it.

Did you ever open a ticket for repair regarding this?

Everything is relative. Compared to '11-'13 perhaps, but not when compared to how it could and should be.

Odd, fader/balance is one of the items that is listed on the bulletin and was fixed when mine was updated.

not that it will fix the problem, but turning the mid eq setting all the way down was a trick to use on the 11-13's; really brings the system to life or at least to a respectable level. You can then adjust from there to fine tune.
I actually did this today. I did have it set to 0, but turned it completely down and started adjusting from there. I noticed it always sounded...IDK, muffled or muggy? compared to the Dart. But doing this makes the sound more crisp.
