I looked on the u-connect website to see which phones play well with the system but it didn't list many of the newer or older phones. I have a Smasung Galaxy S3 now but will probably replace it around the same time I buy a Durango. I read somewhere that for the system to fully work the phone needs to have bluetooth MAP capability. So, what phone do you have and do all of the feature work for you? I'm talking about features like text messages being read to you, contact sync voice commands etc.

I can confirm that the Nokia Lumia 920 and 925 both work for the features that you described. (text, voice and music)

However, unless you have a phone that can toggle off certain Bluetooth profiles, there is one annoying problem.

Because UConnect grabs all profiles it will also grab the AD2P profile if you like it or not. The issue is if you want to use the Navigation on your phone, you have to make the audio source on UConnect to Bluetooth and your phone to listen to the turn-by-turn directions. This means you cannot listen to music from your in car radio at the same time. The work around is to listen to music and Navigation both from your phone. This seems to work.

No problems with my Galaxy Note III
Same here with my Note 3. I just wish it would read texts from other messaging apps (I use WhatsApp way more often than the stock messaging app). I will say, after this lastest UConnect update, I have to press the mute button twice after connecting to have the music from my phone via Bluetooth play through the Durango's speakers. That's a UConnect issue, though, not an issue with my phone.

I have an iPhone 5 which I know isn't fully compatible; however, while making/receiving calls through the system isn't a problem, I never hear my phone make a sound when I receive a text message. I'll just randomly check my phone and see that I received a message. Any other iPhone users have this issue?

I have a Galaxy SIII and all features work fine with my 13 Ram, which probably has the same setup and the D. Reading texts, phone functions, media device use, everything works fine. I have the U-Connect 8.4a
Cool! Thank you. I hope to have a new Durango before I'm due for a new phone in September.

I also have a note 3 and have not had any problems.

My droid max works great but do have the same issue outlined above with Bluetooth picking up the nav. Wish I could separate that so I can listen to music via the radio and us my phone for nav.

Phone synced but Durango won't upload contacts. Anyone else have this problem or better yet a solution?

Labstah Slayah,

I just picked my 2014 Durango up yesterday and have Samsung Galaxy S3 phones (wife and I have the same model) and was able to get them paired, and running all the features work for me. I was able to send text messages, have them read to me, used the voice commands to send one of the 15 "pre canned" text messages, all my contacts synced within seconds.

My previous 'hands freee' device was a Blue Ant3 and I had more problems trying to get it to sync withe my phones than I had getting UConnect to sync.

It will only make a sound if you have the system tuned to USB or bluetooth whereever the phone is connected to. If you're listening to Radio, no notification sounds at all. Other features are functioning well, although I haven't tried the text as I still prefer reading it from my phone instead of from the car, but I have to check if that feature works for my phone.

I have the iPhone 5s
