Looks like a 9.5 rim is recommended for this particular tire size, but I just wanted to get some input from those that may have this set-up. Any issues at all? Thinking 275/40s, but if I can get away with 285/40s I'll go that route. Thanks for any help.

That is what I have on order, should be fine. 265/40R22 is almost a perfect match to stock in overall diameter, but most of these tires don't have a high enough load rating. We need at least a 107. The 285/40 is 0.6" larger in overall diameter, so your speedo will be off slightly. At 80mph it will read about 81.5. At least that will put you on the safer side of the law!

In the 275/40 there just isn't as much of a tire selection. I know the Nitto 420 is available in this size, but I've heard it is a somewhat noisy tire due to the large tread blocks. I went with Yoko Parada Spec, and had to go 285/40 to get it.

What is the offset of the wheels? Stock is +56 or +50, depending on who you ask. 1"=25.4mm so to keep the outside lip of the wheel aligned with the fender as the stock wheel is, you should have around a +38 offset.

Thanks for the input. The offset I'm looking at is +30 and also a +35 option. I'm guessing it'll be fine. I just want something to fill the wheel well up a bit more and something that's flush with the body and not tucked in.

The 30 offset will stick out about 3/4" The 35 will just be flush

Also, it won't fill the wheel well up much. It is only .6" larger overall diameter, so only .3" will be on the top half to fill the gap. If you really want to fill the gap you would need a much larger tire, and that would throw the speedo way off.

What 22's you got?
Don't have them yet, but it's a toss-up between viper reps or old srt-8 reps. I don't like any aftermarket rims that I've seen and I love the look of both the viper and srt-8's. Just can't decide on the color for my Granite D. Viper's only come in gloss black, but the srt8's come in matte or gloss black and also competition gray. Not sure what would look best.

Thinking these in gloss black... Viper Factory Reproduction Wheels for 2011-14 Durango CHROME

My D is black. Too much black, I would think, if I threw those on there. But damn, those look great.

My '14 came with really good all terrain tires, but once they wear down a little I'm going to need snow tires (Wyoming is ridic). Next year, I'll probably rewheel the D with 22's and may go w/ the viper reps. They look like a Dodge wheel (cause they are) and they won't show off too much.

The thing I like about my D the most is 99% of people probably look at it and think "oh, a black suv." But that 1% who really know cars look at it and think "damn." I want to keep it subtle that way.

22x9? What bolt pattern and offset are you going with. I only see +15 and +38 offsets on one website I went to. I think 35 is fender flush.

These are going to look epic on your D!!

Yep those are the ones. I've never been a fan of shiny rims, but I kinda have no option if these are the ones I like. Strange that they make them in matte black and gunmetal for other vehicles.
It's really difficult to find a set of the Vipers for the Durango. I contacted dmods and the only set of rims they have for 22x9 is with a +50 offset. That's going to stick out a bit too much for me.

I've tried a few other places for these vipers and I've had no luck. Only place I can find them with an offset close to +38 is: Dodge Viper - Black - Factory Reproductions

Listed with 22x9 5x5 +35, but yet again the bolt pattern here is 5x5 and I believe the D is listed at 5x127.

5x5 is the same as 5x127.
