See I've heard that too, mostly on 2011's but I'm not putting it past me for 2012. I don't think the shift knob is a bad idea and I do think it's too early to tell whether it works out great or not since I don't think any 2014 owner has pushed their D past say 100k miles. By then we might really be able to tell how well the 2014 is put together. I think they are solid as hell but being 20 and going to school I have to limit myself. I wont graduate till spring 2015 since I failed out of a class needed to get into 2 others so I have to take an extra year and my scholarship only pays for 2 years. I THINK (and hope) if I find the R/T I want (Red Blacktop AWD, Nappa Leather group, UConnect 430N, Sunroof, Block heater would be handy too) that if I do some touching up to my 05 that I can possibly get a $8,500-$9,000 trade in on it.
All the best.

IT HAPPENED!!! IT FINALLY FREAKIN HAPPENED!!!!

So, some of you know that I've been in the market for a new Durango. Well, my wife has anyway as I already drive Dodge :). But first we had to sell our beast of a Saab 9-7X. Well, today it happened. The bank approved the buyer, she has her check, she has her insurance, she is coming to pick it up tomorrow.

Why am I so ecstatic??? After about 4 months of searching now, we are not getting a 2011 that was in our price range. Not a 2012 that just barely in/out of our price range. We will be taking ownership of a lease return 2013 R/T with 15k on the Odometer this Saturday.

HAHAHA!!! I love it!!! Finally, Mopar takes even more precedence in my garage than just my beast of a Magnum.

Yes, yes, I'm happy...

Its Red... I call it arrest me red since my wife is such a superb driver. She doesn't need a flashy color like that but oh well.

Otherwise it is Leather, AWD, NAV, Heated seats front and rear, bench though no captains.

I will be ordering the tow package and valance from my dealership as it was lacking that. It does not have sunroof or DVD. Sunroof, she hates em... DVD, my kids love em. So I'm guessing much like my Magnum I'll fabricate a bracket to support one and install it. See in our older cars, they would not deal with the DVD and the sunroof due to clearance issues. I fabricated a steal bracket and integrated it to the sunroof mounts and installed a DVD player overhead. Now in all the new ones, they do only overhead with the sunroof because of the additional support the sunroof provides... crazy.

Anyway, was a nice trip with the car. My wife tried to tango with my Magnum a time or two... she can't hang. My friends all think I should transplant my 6.1 Hemi into hers and her 5.7 into mine... really? We'll wait till warranty is up and if she keeps it then, maybe a 392 is in its future. I'm just that type of guy :).

Congrats but we need picture evidence

I have an 04 slt durango 4.7 ..i need to know how hard it really is to change the oil pan. I've turned wrenches all my life as a back yarder and have a good garage with a fully usable pit... I am 53 and not in the greatest shape body wise. I can take time to do this,,cause i can't work a formal job anymore..was a union carpenter for 25yrs. I'm told its like a 700.00 dollar job to have it done,,can't afford that much..any advice (should i do it or don't )..

Hi! I'm Cheekie!
I'm rather new here, but have poked in and out as an unregistered guest on several forums for a while. No, I am not a bot or a spammer... I'm happily married, not looking to troll for anything but pointers and ideas on my newest project... I am a consummate tinkerer, wrench wrangler, tool touting kinda person. I love builds and mods, but, it was not until recently that I turned my interests towards poking my head into automobiles. I've owned the snowflake SXT 3.7 V6 since Jan 2008, and haven't done much more than change the oil and other basic maintenance. Its my hope to learn a lot from and with you all! See ya'all on the boards.
