New to the forums, looking for some advice.
Just wondering what to look for in a 200 thousand mile tune-up. assuming that the previous owner didnt do anything at the factory recommended intervals. I know the usual spark plug and wires, oil change, Air Filter and Fuel Filter ( although not a big fan of having to drop the tank as I understand). Anything else that you guys can recommend would be appreciated.

Hopefully you have replaced timing chains already...

JC:
The fuel filter should last the life of the pump. I would not bother with it unless you change the pump.
Don't forget trans fluid/filter, transfer case, front/rear axle fluids as well as coolant.

Why would you have to replace the timing chains?

Just go with plugs..no wires on 4.7L, fluids including transmission fluid and filters, coolant flush and not a bad idea to replace the thermostat if you have no history on prior maintenance done.
I'd also remove air intake pipe and clean the TB.
Oh, and a new serpentine belt is required at 100K intervals and with that belt also replace the tensioner!

I have almost 325,000 on mine, so you should have plenty of life left in that 4.7L

In 99% of cases these chains are worn out and the auto adjuster is fully extended with normal use at 100K -150K Miles
You happen to be lucky or very very peticular about maintenance.

??? First I've heard of this...and I can't believe I'm the 1%.
Have you seen how beefy the chains are? I don't see them stretching that much to where the auto adjuster would be worn?
Maybe its because I use good synthetic oil..Mobil 1.

As far as maintenance, I bought the truck with 23,000 on it.
I've only used full synthetic oil that early on I changed at 5,000 miles intervals, but later switched to 10K mile intervals..and I use mopar or like filters.
K&N air filter has been in since 30,000 and I clean and re-oil it every 30K.
Copper NGK plugs every 30K.
Rear end fluid change 30K...I tow a heavy boat.
Serpentine belt and tensioner every 100K along with coolant flush/thermostat change/transmission filter change.

That's my maintenance schedule.
Not much to do on the 4.7L.
I do take care of any issues that come up, I don't let them get to the point of a possible road-side breakdown.
