Any recommendations on mean looking clamp on exhaust tips. Going for a look and not the expense of changing exhaust at this time. Would like a hyper black finish.

Thanks.

Me too. I'm looking at something bigger than what's on ours. The factory tips look just too small and don't stick out far enough. I don't want anything that stick out farther than the cut outs though. Any suggestions? Thanks.

mwaltke.... ;)

dbtx.... i am not a fan of the bolt on tips. For $20 labor, get a weld on and just have it done right at a shop.
Also, I suggest a double wall, rolled edge tip, any style... just double wall, rolled edge.
Thanks Indy. Any idea of the inlet diameter? Also thinking 5 or 6 inch pipe.

I think price is about average for a decent tip. I'm pretty sure stock is 3.5", but IMO I wouldn't go larger than a 5" outlet tip. I don't want to look like I stole fartpipes off a Civic!
Also watch the length! I haven't measured, but it is packed in there. Standard tips are stubby so unless you are changing mufflers as well then I think half of a 15" long tip will be sticking out the back.

Right...I located a muffler shop in North Texas that comes highly recommended for exhaust and/or tip upgrade. I plan to stop by there in the next few days. Also decided to go for a K&N CAI.

@BTNKK - Agree no more than 5". Makes sense. I don't want to go crazy. Just want the beast to have a nice a$$!!

Stay tuned...

Ordered my K&N CAI. Can someone confirm this will fit the 2014 and is the same as the 2013...

K&N 77-1563KP

I know the answer is yes...but I'm OCD so want to confirm so I can cancel if necessary.

Highly agree here. When I put a nice double rolled exhaust tip on my Escalade, I got a decent one from Summit Racing and opted for the weld on one. I stuck it on, lined it up where I wanted it, and welded it myself. Yea I have a 120v welder that's good enough for upto 1/4" steel, so that obviously worked fine for an exhaust tip. Just spot welded it in 3 spots. Had it on there for almost 4yrs, through all the rain and snow at times, never had an issue with it rusting or moving or falling off. The bolt on ones are just prone to failure. As metal expands/contracts, the clamp will get loose, tip could just fall off while driving, or the clamp bolt part gets rusting to hell.

Just wanted to let yall know, putting a tip on is not going to be easy/bolt on as it seems. I just looked into this a bit more.

Attached is a picture of the 2013 Rear exhaust including the tip. The tip is welded.

Now to put a nicer one, realistically you need to cut it off right behind the chrome portion then weld on a new one. Otherwise you need to find a short exhaust tip that's going to slip over the chrome part and you'd basically need to weld to the chrome or use the not preferred method of bolting onto the chrome itself. But then I think the tip is going to stick out too far not to mention most likely its going to be like a 6" tip if the inlet is going to be like 3.5-4" (measurement around the chrome part).

Update: Got my new tips installed today at Kinney's Muffler Shop in Watauga, TX - HOME

Great service and great job! Quality work. 4" tip. Polished. Improved the look of my D dramatically if I do say so myself. 5" was going to be overkill! The weather is horrendous in Dallas today so I stopped by the "spray wash" on the way home.
