01 durango, changing over to 9.25 from the 03 (for rear disk) rear. Im going to go with 4.11 gears what do you recommend for differentials: front, rear, or both? Now I changed over to the NV233 tcase so its 4wd p/t. I live in ny so I do still need some drivability in the snow anyone have links or part numbers to go for?

I used a YUKON Locker in my 9.25 rear. Worked Great minor noise as expected with a locker

You some choices. You may have limited slip unit in the. New axle. Not great, but better than nothing. Then you basically have a choice of mechanical lockers to choose from. I run the Detroit locker, and love it. Power tray is simpler to install into an open axle as there is no removal of the carrier to install. ARB makes an air locker for the smaller axle but not 9.25 unit, go figure. You don't want full time locker in the front end as it will affect your steering, besides which the corporate axle doesn't like the stress.

Thanks I wasn't sure if you had to match the front with the back (as you do with the gears)

just make sure you match the gear ratios...no lockers in front!

For a mostly on-road normal driving vehicle, I'd really (really) only use a manual locker. A manual locker has normal open-diff operation (zero clicks or odd behavior) until you flip the switch to lock it. I have two ARB lockers on my Jeep, which require a 90PSI air pressure to activate. Other mfg's have electric versions of manual lockers which just use 12V, so are easier to implement.

I can't imagine someone on LI, NY needing lockers for just bad weather. I drove my D and my Jeep all over upstate NY (lived in Poughkeepsie 41 yrs until 2011) and never needed a locker on-road in any weather (2 locked diffs on an icy road? Think hockey puck on a hill). They are usually only on vehicles intended for serious off-road activity. I have a lot of friends in Long Island Off-Road (LIORclub.ORG). If you need local advice or want to get something installed, let me know.
