When using the "Build You Own" application on Dodge's website, the Citadel shows:
  • Media Center 730N CD/DVD/MP3/HDD/NAV Touch Screen Radio
All of the window stickers online that I've seen show:
  • Media Center 430N CD/DVD/MP3/HDD/NAV Touch Screen Radio
Does anyone know which is correct?

Looks like the 730N is an updated version of the 430N.

On the Build Your Own page it appears as an upgrade that can be specified to replace the "Standard" 430N.

Ok, directly from the "built your own" site.

Media Center 430N specs
  • CD/DVD/MP3/HDD/NAV radio with 6.5-inch touch screen
    Sirius Satellite Radio
    Uconnect? Voice Command
    Garmin? Navigation (N/A Voice Command)
30GB hard drive (4,250 song capacity)
    Album Artwork
    Audio Jack
Remote USB Port for music streaming
Media Center 730N specs
  • CD/DVD/MP3/HDD/NAV radio with 6.5-inch touch screen
    Sirius Satellite Radio
    Sirius Traffic?
Uconnect? Voice Command of Hands Free Phone, Music & Navigation
    GPS Navigation with Voice Command
30GB hard drive (4,250 song capacity)
    Album Artwork
    Audio Jack
    USB Port for music streaming
Remote USB Port for music streaming
    Bluetooth? Streaming Audio
I underlined the "differences" on the 730N and they mainly seem to be voice activated NAV, Bluetooth connectivity, and hands free phone (I "assume" via Bluetooth.)

Not sure about the extra USB port listed for the 730N? :? The site indicates the "remote USB" connector is located in the console so maybe the other one's on the dash unit itself??

Let's try this again.

I'm not asking for the differences between the 430N and the 730N, what I'm seeing is a 730N is standard for the Citadel on the Dodge website

but if you go to the Citadel Sticker Thread the sticker shows a 430N. Also, if I check the window sticker on dealer inventory pages, they show a 430N.

So what I'm asking is does anyone here know why there's a discrepancy?

and the answer is:

Please be advised that the Media Center 730N (sales code RHR) just became available as of mid-January on the 2011 Dodge Durango and production for the 2011 Dodge Durango models had commenced back in early-December of 2010. With that being said, you may witness a few models with the Media Center 430N (sales code RHB) as standard equipment on the 2011 Dodge Durango Citadel models.

The newer the better.

Even the 730N stereo/Nav will be the first thing you'll see replaced in the 2012/2013 models. It's a tad on the old side compared to what's available in the marketspace. The 430 is really old technology wise. As I read reviews, that [a poor stereo display/feature] has been a common thread of discontent. Not terrible, but not great either.

Here should be the 730N: Voice Command DOC Link

Not that I recall. It was more a slam on the brightness or lack there of on the display in the daylight and the older layout and functions on the Nav/Radio. Chrysler's MyGig is a few years old (5+ ish?) so I can see where they were coming from there.

As for the bus system, no worries there IMHO.

By my count, that's two reviews from automotive market reviewers that have referred to the D as a crossover, with no objection from anyone.

First Drive: 2011 Dodge Durango

Unfortunately, the Durango doesn't receive Dodge's new navigation system because the vehicle uses an older electrical architecture.
Misleading.

The technology is top of the line with the level of this-n-that the vehicle has. ONLY the stereo is old as noted but poorly written in that article.

Just a quick note to thank beer geek for asking the question about the 430/730 and tomk for emailing Dodge about it and posting their answer. I purchased a Citadel yesterday and have the 730 Media Center in it thanks to this thread.

Similar to what others mentioned, almost all the stickers I saw online (Southern California dealerships) were showing 430s for Citadel models in stock. There were also a number of Citadels in transit that arrived this weekend, which you'd think would have been built after mid-January, but it seems only Citadel models configured with the rear entertainment package had 730s while those with other packages still had the 430 - and I didn't need/want to pay for the rear entertainment package. Luckily there were two exceptions, two Mineral Gray V-8 Citadels in transit to two different dealers here in SoCal without the rear entertainment package with the 730 installed. I now own one of them.

There were other colors in transit (probably same shipment) with the same configuration as mine but with 430s. Must have been lucky with the manufacturing schedule, and Mineral Gray was the color I wanted anyway.

They're how the dealership ordered them, their people figure what'll sell best and order accordingly. The dealer has the final say on anything that isn't special ordered by a customer. Given that both types were available then, yes, a lot of them were ordered prior to the 730 being available.
