hate the tail lights. looks like they forgot they needed them.
Aftermarket will clean up the tails. It's not like many of us are running stocker tails anymore anyways.

I just don't like the upturned rice look to them. No so common on the EU or US brands as it's in the Asia rim stuff.

The tails are very similar to the ones on the Journey.

I agree they're ugly.
It must be the new crossover look. Some must like? not me though.
I like bold distinctive lines in my D

Yeap. My guess is that many folks here aren't going to like this new D/M.

Following the link above. IndyD is this you? LOL. ::joking::

I'd like too see DC keep a SUV in the line-up. Don't want to get a pick-up truck to do the little bit of towing/hauling of stuff that the Durango does now. Like the ability to have six or seven passengers, when need arises?

Hm, have to see where they go with it I guess.

Wonder what's different vs a JGC? Can't believe they'd do just a straight badge-engineering job when everything I've heard says Chrysler and Sergio are trying to de-duplicate.

I think using the Magnum name would be an error. I find it hard to believe that name has any positive vibe.

edit: allpar is postulating 3rd row seat (which the rumor mill has consistently pushed) on a longer wheelbase.

'nother edit: for some chatter from a different viewpoint, see www.gminsidenews.com/forums/f37/2012-dodge-durango-revealed-twitter-93935/ interesting to read.

I must say I really like the new Jeep and would consider actually getting one of these if I'd only win the lottery. I really like the way it looks.

If it's a Durango, I'd get one.
If it's named Magnum, I most likely wouldn't just because that's just lame.

Well? LOL? today Ford introduced the new 2011 Explorer.

Two things:

1) Minus the Ford "Fugly in red" grille, it looks just like the JCG had a baby with the Durango/Magnum-to-be. Check out the scallops down the sides? just like the Jeep. And the rounded wheel wells and ass end that looks like the D/M. Oh? they did elongate the lights fore and aft.

2) If "Explorer" is still what Ford calls their mid sized SUV, I really hope Chrysler doesn't foul it up and abandon the "Durango" nameplate. I know of at least two Durangos they're selling if they get the naming correct. If it's a Magnum, I think they loose these sales on name alone.

The spy photos that had the camo certainly showed a longer version than the re-badged-Jeep with rounded wells on in the Twitter captured photo.

Maybe, just maybe, the "Magnum" rumor is for the elongated version of the Durango called the Durango Magnum or Magnum edition :?:

IIRC, Trojan broke ground on the Bigger-moniker with their Magnum brands so applicable precedence has already been made. ;)

The emblem on the steering wheel is clearly a Rams Head indicating it'll be sold thru the Ram Division, which if you're correct, will make it end up being a Ram-Durango.
Looks positive but we still need to know. I'm sure we'll find out soon.

The newest rumor is that the name stays as "Durango" and says Dodge and not Ram? thus the red stripes for the new Dodge logo. Agreed however that the interior steering wheel and the exterior license plate beauty trim show Ram emblems. Might be a 2011 Ram and a 2012 Dodge as they transition.

Around here in Indiana, if you didn't know for sure, you'd have no idea that Ram is a standalone brand now.
