Anyone here in the midwest be interested in a little gathering this summer?
Good question. I'll have to put my drinking? I mean "thinking" hat on :doh:D Tyrone's Ride said:Thrush, Thanks, for the heads-up on the hotel situation.
Any ideas for a place to gather for a cold one & dinner out after the gates close Saturday evening?

Well, it's now your computer for sure seeing as how you can get online from other PCs. Good luck figuring it out. PC problems suck!cdndodgeboy said:I'll try to keep tabs on this , however my computer doesn't like this website for some reason?? Hey don't count out Mickey D's. They're giving ol Starbucks a run for their money. I can't see paying $5+ for a cup of java tho! :doh:MAGIC84 said:Sorry about your experience, I thought it was pretty good. I got kind of used to it when my D was getting the radiator surgery/replacement in the fall over in Toldeo. Plus when I was based in Pittsburgh, I'd make road trips to Indianapolis and there was a TIM H right off my fuel stop exit in Dayton near the airport. Locals up here swear by Caribou coffee, their marketing campaign is you get 10¢ off your order if you get the question of the day. No daily doubles, just general fairly obscure trivia info and there's not a lot lost if you don't get it, but 10¢ is 10¢ right? Good coffee recommendations for your trip.
You usually get good coffee at truck stops because high traffic means high turnover on the coffee so you have a pretty good shot of either just coming in at the beginning of a brew cycle or just waiting about 5-10 mins to have the fresh stuff.
If you miss the fresh brew cycle, you're still not out as most truck stop service centers usually pitch coffee after about two hours and start again to keep fresh coffee for not only truckers but motorists and State highway patrols. I've even gone so far as to make the coffee if they're busy and wasn't charged.
End of cycle and pot is almost empty, you can usually talk to the manager to get a fresh pot going. Again a 5-10 min delay, but it's a good time to stretch and walk around while waiting for the fresh pot.
Chain coffee recommendations are Caribou Coffee, Dunkin Dounts, Dunn Bros, Einsteins, and if you're brave Starbucks.
Some of those places might be in the service centers or very close to the truck stop exit. If you get in early enough, let me know and we might be able to grab an adult beverage on Fri night.
