Wow. LOL. What's he going to use that for?

In the service, when there was nothing to do, we'd either paint rocks or camo re-paint trucks like that in the motor pool. They'd give us a couple of gallons of different color greens and a 2" brush and we'd touch-up all day long.

Nice, fast, too.!

Please tell me if he's going to modify it (some do) that he'll start on steering. Those things take way too long to turn? I drive the 7 tons now but I've driven those ancient things before.

Very nice! I've always dreamed of owning one of those massive things. How much is insurance on it? Make sure he has proof of where he bought it at all times! I know out here he'd get stopped in 2 blocks or less.

I've driven the much older REO 6x with the Dodge 6 cyl engine. Real slow, but go anywhere vehicles. Great looker, but Switch is right, if you live near a base.

Man oh man, does that bring back memories?

Spent 3 years in the "3rd Herd" outta Tinker AFB in OKC and have many, many trips under my belt driving across the Oklahoma panhandle in an M35. Panama, if you think the steering in them is bad as is, you should try dragging a 22,000 lb mobile phone van around behind one (didn't need to do any arm workouts after one of those trips!! :cheesy:)

An yup, those ole "multi-fuel" engines will run on any sorta liquid that'll burn but, believe it or not, it IS possible to get one stuck? been there, done that! If you're young and stupid enough to ignore all the "old-hands" advise and drive one off pavement into mud that's "more" than axle deep, even 10 wheel drive won't getcha out!! :wall:

It took 2, yup I said 2, wreckers to get it out as the first one just pulled itself right off the pavement and into the mud with me!!

But probably the strangest thing I remember from my time with the deuce is the lady who pulled right out in front of one I was riding in the back of and then had the gall to actually tell the SPs (Air Force equivalent to MPs) that she "Didn't see it because it was camouflaged!"

Needless to say, she got the ticket anyway! :naughty:

The first mod, in addition to the front bumper he made, was to add a new power steering set-up and new tires. He paid $3,000 for it and I think it was an incredible deal! There's also 2 identical 2 1/2 running around here.

I'll post pictures of the inside when I see him again.
