Ok, here's the deal. I'm bored of just getting online and talking to other D owners and I know there are a few of you out in in sunny SoCal SOOOOOOO? Let's get together a meet and greet, see who's around and what they have, share tips and ideas in person, and have some good lunch while we're at it.

Post here or PM me if you'd like to attend. We could also do it at Fiesta Island and everyone can bring something. For those who don't know, I think Fiesta Island is the only beach you can drive up and park on right at the water's edge (makes for great pics!)

Group pictures will be provided and a mini photo shoot will be done (if we're lucky, I can talk my wife into doing it as she's excellent behind her big ass camera.)

Lets get this and the SoCal chapter going again!

::::::::::::::::::::::DETAILS:::::::::::::::::::::
PLACE: Sonic Drive In - 101 Main St, Vista CA, 92084 (Good food and a car place)
TIME: Feb 28th, 6:30ish till we get bored and leave.

27th should be okay with me. No real limit on travel for me either, so wherever.

Trying to keep your post on top of the board.
Hope you have a great turnout!
PS I have run a few events here and know how to keep them fresh!

I got a ticket on Fiesta Island, FROM A BOAT!! Had my brother visiting while I was stationed in San Diego so I took him out there. We drove around on the beach a little and coming around almost to the exit there was a little inlet of water. I decided to show off and splashed right through it. The Police were right there in a boat and got me. Oh well, great place to play in the mud when it rains as well. Enjoy the M&G.

FSTDANGO3: Can we keep this on topic. Jokes are funny and all but I've seen threads and meets ruined over "harmless" jokes. :D Thanks.
POW? and the Prez gets owned!! :)

Good luck with the get together!

IIRC, we have 4 or 5 active Cali folks. MWeed has been begging for a stronger contingent for the chapter there in SoCal for like forever it seems.

Here's to hoping you guys have a good GTG and that this thread brings a few folks out of the woodwork.

Well I'm not just hoping on people from the site. I've hit up the other few sites that have Durango boards and am also going to start tracking down Durango owners. I'd be nice to get a SoCal DOC decal to throw on the truck.

Whew? good luck! I passed out 100 - 200 DOC cards and got absolutely no hits on any of them when I first moved to the great PNW. I'd much rather be in the Northeast right now. Good get togethers and good friends!!

Rod

Yeah. I'll say, "Ditto!" to what Rod said. About the same here WGL area. The last small gathering here was in 2004 at Wisconsin Dells, and then in 2005 work got real busy and vacation time was on the back burner.

Passing out fliers is nothing. The key is to get them talking about their rig, fill them in on yours, become friends with them and then tell them to get on the site to meet a lot of people with the same truck that can help out with things, friendly topics, plus good technical issues and recalls. When I had my Focus, I helped grow a local website till we had full events.

Yup? you're right. Good luck!

Scheduling hasn't been easy for a lot of folks in these economic times. A lot of folks are working so hard they forget to relax thinking that it'll cost them. It's time for a group to form out here. I'm hoping to meet a lot of interested folks. Let's do this.

You'll get DOC decals with your membership. That's the only way to get one.

NEDOC is where it's at! :cheesy: You don't want to be in the Northeast right now though. If I never see snow again after this winter I'll die happy.

But seriously, wishing you Cali guys luck on a successful GTG. It'd be nice to see other chapters of the club alive and kicking. :)
