here's the new speaker box to go in my '96 Ram. since there's some loud mouth youngins flapping their gums on a few stereo forums about how I don't compete as much anymore, I gotta come out again and show 'em how a world champ gets it done! where the speaker mounts, it's triple faced for strength? the speakers will weigh 70+ lbs each!

Kilgore, just having it Rhino lined since it'll be in the bed. I have a fiberglass tonneau cover as well, but just to be on the safe side.

70 pound speakers?!? Holy crap! Talk about 'bringing down the house'? literally! :bugeyed:

Looks very professionally built, nice work Don! Maybe you can help me build a sub box for my D when I'm up there for the Cruise-in come May.

Zen, if I had skills like that, I'd be glad to help you out lol I had the box made for me by a box builder. Dwayne, this is my SPL monster so I had to go big!

a little peek at what's going in:

10 kinetik 2400 batteries
(69 lbs each, 2600 amps each, 13''w x 6.7''d x 8.5''h)

2 DC Audio Level 5 15 inch subwoofers
(78 lbs each,power handling 4000 watts each, 20,000 watts for a burst)

4 atomic 5000.1d amps
(5000 watts each at 1 ohm at 14.4 volts,24.50''x10.60''x2.60'')

and a few other trade secrets!!

I'm deaf now, I couldn't imagine what it'll sound like (or feel like.) You including a Richter scale?

lol in the class that I'm in you're not allowed to sit inside. Richter scale is about right for some vehicles in classes higher than mine! they're popping out windshields like nothing. the world record I believe is 183.x decibels and he's broken his own record several times.

you got it! I love giving demos!

Dang bro!! I thought I had a pretty beastly system. 70lbs you say?? I couldn't imagine that. I'm thinking of upgrading my system to 2 w3's. Someday we're going to have to meet up and check out each others stuff. Best of luck to ya!

project_dog, I've had great luck with Memphis but these Atomic amps are a little more efficient and I'm not sure if a top of the line Memphis sub would like a 20,000 power burst (not that any sub would! lol) I'll show the young bucks what's up!! midnite, we'll have to do that. I'm looking for 152-153 decibels or maybe more if all goes right. gonna need it to take away my friend's pro no wall class record.
