Hey guys, I took a quick look around the forum and didn't see any mention of you guys being there. I thought the Pres talked about it being a club event for 2009 with the Dakota guys. This year we were at 13th and Woodward again. But also we were invited to stay with the Viper and Prowler crowd next year for 2010. We'll see. The Viper over shadows our cars and people will walk right past us :(

Here are some pics. You guys really need to look into it.<ul>Friday night arriving

GREAT SHOTS JAMES!
It was gonna be a club event but we couldn't work it out.
I'd really like to see this happen next year.

x2 Prez. if there's enough interest, I'll make it happen. if there's enough of us, with the caliber of D's here we won't be overlooked!

Excellent pics!! I really like the look of those little Crossfires, nice lambo doors on that black one. Sweet attractions too, a Mr. Norm's Challenger! Those babies are putting out over 700HP! Nice overall collection of Challengers there as well, and can't forget the Vipers. The '09 Rams there look great and of course what an awesome assortment of classic Mopar muscle, those 'Cudas are beautiful! Same for the Prowlers, wow so much to see, if this event gets serious again count me in!

I'm in for 2010 for sure.

James, how can I get a CICCI hood prop? I really would like to get one.

Also, great photos! Thanks for sharing. What's the "DRAGON"? Dragons Tail on the Blue Ridge Parkway?

Zen, Mr Norms rides were all at Carlisle too.

Well, the Tail is one thing to drive in a group of Crossfires. Totally something else to drive in a group of Durangos, heavy, poor brakes, etc. :naughty:

People die on that road a lot. Especially motorcycles.

Very true, there's actually a big tree at a rest stop at the end of the Dragon littered with the wreckage of just motorcycles that have crashed on that road. Bits and pieces of plastic fairings, mangled exhaust pipes, shattered mirrors, etc. hanging from branches, nailed to the trunk, or piled at its base. Some pictures and memorials even of people who've lost their lives. It's not a pretty sight and an ever present reminder of just how dangerous that road is. Every year the tree grows with more and more miscellaneous debris.

Definitely not a road you want to run the D on, at least not at speeds any greater than 25 mph.

Indy,

Those hood props were given out as a package deal. I put in a request to see if they can be purchased separately. I didn't see them in the CICCI store. I'll pass on any info I get.

Also, I really wouldn't recommend the "Tail" for the Durango, they really would hold up traffic :) But in any case here's the website link www.tailofthedragon.com/index.html

You guys have to make an effort for Woodward in 2010.

James

I think it'd be cool!
I'd say we need to get going on a plan for this especially when it comes to getting rooms to stay in.

The hotel we stay in is very nice; easy on and off the expressway and close to restaurants and self service car wash/gas station, etc. while enough out of the way to miss the hustle and bustle. It's only 10 minutes away from Woodward Blvd, closer to Pontiac and they'll block rooms for your club if you know about how many you'll need but they don't allow reservations a year ahead of time? I don't know why?? If you're truly interested and no BS, I'll get more information on when reservations are allowed. No problem tailgating in the parking lot until 2 or 3 am with chairs as long as everyone behaves themselves.

I can't help you with parking on or near the Blvd. You'll need to have parking reservations somewhere on/near the Blvd for Saturday unless you plan to cruise all day. I'd suggest you guys follow up with the Dakota group for that. We park along side the Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep Exhibits at 13th. I think I recall the Dakota group parks more north near or in Pontiac at the north loop.

Good luck, James

let's do this. how many are in? if I can get a head count soon, I'll talk to James to get info on the hotel he stayed in so I can book us a block of rooms. looks like a great time.

I should be okay with that weekend. It's a year away so things could change, but sitting here now that weekend is clear. If it were this weekend, I know already next year isn't good (college upper classmen move in weekend.)
